Dong Fureng, a well-known economist, believes that Wenzhou's economic development has promoted the formation and development of market economy, but it is still constrained by the lack and imperfection of market development. Taking financial support as an example, Wenzhou's economy lacked formal financial support for a long time. In order to meet the financing needs of private enterprises, various informal or underground financial institutions and activities appeared. Private enterprises raise funds through informal financing channels, which is costly and risky, and some serious problems have occurred. Wenzhou enterprises mostly rely on their own profit accumulation for development, and rarely use the capital market to accelerate their own development. If this situation is not changed, Wenzhou enterprises will be at a disadvantage in the competition with other enterprises.
"Wenzhou model" attracts a large number of farmers to be involved in the torrent of entrepreneurship, but most of these early entrepreneurs in Wenzhou have low quality and low level of education. At the beginning of the rise of "Wenzhou Model", they were able to control enterprises. However, after the national market economy developed and the market became more and more open to the outside world, Wenzhou bosses who started their businesses in the early days could only adapt to this situation by constantly improving their knowledge level and management ability, otherwise they would be excluded by the market.
The vast majority of enterprises under the "Wenzhou model" are family businesses. Although family businesses have their advantages, they also have their limitations. For example, the formation of paternalistic leadership is prone to decision-making mistakes; Wenzhou bosses mostly close their enterprises, unwilling to be entered by outsiders, unwilling to merge with other enterprises, and unwilling to be acquired and merged by other enterprises, and generally unwilling to accept the corporate form of joint-stock companies. These are one of the reasons why Wenzhou enterprises are difficult to grow up, and it is also the reason why there is only one listed company in Wenzhou that has been restructured from a state-owned enterprise. We can't completely deny the family business, but Wenzhou's enterprise system still needs innovation, and we should learn to establish a modern enterprise system.
Dong Fureng reviewed the process of "Wenzhou Model" from being controversial to being recognized. He believes that the "Wenzhou model" was finally recognized because after different practices and repeated thinking, people finally realized that only by developing a market economy can we optimize the allocation of resources and accelerate economic development. The practice of "Wenzhou Model" has played an important role in prompting people to change their ideas, accept and develop the market economy. In the final analysis, Wenzhou model is a model of developing private economy. Through practice, more and more people realize that developing market economy requires developing private economy, and private economy or non-public economy is an important part of socialist market economy.
The Breakthrough of Wenzhou Model
(1) The product structure and industrial structure need to be upgraded and improved with the change of the market and the enhancement of its own economic strength.
As far as Wenzhou is concerned, the industrial structure dominated by manufacturing industry is difficult to change in a long period of time. But in the past, the product structure of mass production of low-grade commodities must be changed, because when China's economy has developed by leaps and bounds, the general shortage in the domestic market has ended and people's income has been greatly improved, consumers and users are no longer satisfied with those low-grade commodities. Of course, there is still a market for some small commodities (such as buttons and lighters). Under the condition of maintaining the manufacturing-oriented industrial structure, Wenzhou enterprises need to introduce new technologies and develop new products in these manufacturing industries, even traditional industries and traditional products, otherwise Wenzhou enterprises will lose their competitiveness, especially in the international market after joining WTO. Many enterprises in Wenzhou do just that. At the same time, the "Wenzhou Model" can no longer stop at upgrading the original industries and products, but should upgrade to a higher industrial structure. In addition to continuing to develop and improve labor-intensive manufacturing, it should also develop some technology-intensive and capital-intensive industries and March into high-tech industries when conditions permit.
(2) Innovation of enterprise system.
The establishment of modern enterprise system has opened up a broad space for the development of Wenzhou enterprises, which not only greatly broke through the constraints of limited capital of family members and partners, but also greatly broadened the financing channels. Moreover, it has the conditions to manage according to the modern enterprise system, breaking through the restrictions of family-owned enterprises and paternalistic management, and can attract professional managers and talented people to manage and operate enterprises.
(3) Vigorously strengthen research and development.
After China's entry into WTO, the market competition is more intense. If we only rely on imitation, we can only run behind others, and sooner or later we will be eliminated by powerful opponents. If we develop by infringing others' intellectual property rights, we will be punished. In view of this, enterprises should devote themselves to research and development and innovation in management, technology and products, which is the fundamental way to win in the competition.
(4) Make use of the capital market to make the enterprise bigger and stronger. (
