A few weeks ago, we reported on rumors that BMW would develop an M3 Touring model (station wagon). This will also be the first BMW M station wagon, but unfortunately, the M3 station wagon won't debut until two years later. Even so, Crock fans are excited inside. Recently, the automaker has released a new video showing off the wagon, and it's pretty much whet our appetite.

This is a screenshot of a video in which the car drove out of the door of the BMW M Department. This can be regarded as the first time that the public has a close look at the BMW M3 Touring Edition. Even though camouflage covers every body panel, it can't hide its unique shape. Judging from the body and wheelbase, this looks like a standard-axis 3 Series station wagon. The front fascia houses the larger kidney grille seen on the M3 and M4, flanked by what appears to be a ventilated lower bumper to cool the tires.

The taillight part looks like a standard 3 Series taillight, with a radical rear bumper and bilateral quad exhaust pipes underneath. Another significant difference between the standard estate and the M estate is the lowered ride height of the latter, which leaves very limited space between the wheels and wheel arches.

In terms of power, the new car is expected to use the automaker's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. We don't know its power, but we can predict the results from the upcoming BMW M3 sedan. The sedan will be available in a 466-hp (343-kW) Pure model (manual version), a 485-hp (357-kW) standard product, and a 517-hp (380-kW) Thunder Edition. Since the BMW M3 Touring is still in the early stages of car development, these numbers are subject to change.
