I am a student in class six (1) of the City Annex Primary School, my name is Cao Xinyue.

I've heard that you teach a class of six (8) at New Star Primary School, and that your class is very interested in the various practical activity projects in the textbook, but you didn't let them carry out this kind of activity this semester. I also know that you must have been worried that your students would spend time on the activities and that it would affect the exams. In fact, Mr. Zhao is not like that.

I'm a sixth grader now, but we've been doing practical language activities and so on. The reason is that carrying out such activities not only does not waste time, but also enables students to grow a lot of knowledge. For example, our teachers can take the students to do handbills, collect information in the classroom to discuss, exchange; open the story, recitation or other activities, can develop students in all aspects of language skills.

If you don't allow your class to do this kind of activity, your class will only learn dead knowledge from books. They won't be able to learn new knowledge, apply it, and discover new knowledge in the process of applying it. If you do not carry out such practical activities, your class will not be good at imagination, good at differentiation, good at dispersion, good at reasoning, good at discovering problems, research problems, problem solving.

Think about it, Mr. Zhao, if you organize some language activities for your students every semester, every week, every day, more or less, your students will start to like the language from the activities because the language allows them to learn in happiness. Carrying out such activities can not only cultivate students' interest in reading, but more importantly, can broaden the students' field of study, enrich the accumulation of language, so that the field of vision is more and more broad, the mind is more and more flexible, more and more active thinking, which is the important basis for the development of the intellect.
