How do I make AP course selections that are easier?

You can consider four dimensions: college career planning, career goal orientation, your own disciplinary strengths, and the degree of course balance.

1. Economics or Business Orientation

Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Calculus BC, Statistics, World History, U.S. History, Human Geography. Calculus and statistics are the instrumental foundations of the economics program, and mastery of these two subjects will pave the way for future study of the subject in college. Macro and microeconomics are required courses.

World history, U.S. history, and human geography are subjects that can help students understand many economic models and knowledge, as well as additional bonus points.

2. Science and Chemistry Direction

Chemistry, Biology, Physics 1&2, Statistics, Calculus BC, Physics C, and Computer Science A. Calculus is very important in Physics and is the basis for Physics C, which is basically a required test. Physics C and Chemistry, on the other hand, are cross sections of Physics and Chemistry. Statistics provides the means to analyze experimental data.

3. Engineering Discipline Orientation

Calculus BC, Physics C, Computer Science A, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science AB. the actual choice depends on the specific engineering discipline you wish to pursue.?

If you want to study something like Mechanical Engineering, then the first three subjects are sufficient. If you want to study chemical engineering, then add chemistry. If you want to study bioengineering, then add biology. If you want to study subjects in the electrical engineering direction, then you need to replace Computer Science A with Computer Science AB.

4. Computer Science Direction

Calculus BC, Computer Science AB, Physics C, Statistics. In fact Computer Science requires fewer subjects at the application stage as the vast majority of the exams have nothing to do with computers.

Calculus BC is a must because it is the basis for many algorithms. Physics C is also a must because it will teach you how to overload calculus from theoretical to practical and train you in modeling. Computers can be used for big data statistics, and statistics becomes especially important in the age of big data.

5. Humanities, Social, and Arts Subject Directions

U.S. History, World History, Psychology, Statistics, and English Composition. The subjects of U.S. History and World History can inversely improve your TOEFL and SAT/ACT

writing scores and provide more writing material. Psychology is difficult, but once you overcome the vocabulary hurdles, the payoff can be substantial. Statistics is often easily overlooked by liberal arts students, but is actually a useful applied tool in experiments across all disciplines.
