An ancient village from the Ming and Qing Dynasties tells the story of what happened under the "Lantern" Street. An inadvertent mountain run, I was lucky enough to meet it - Nanjiao Village at the foot of Mao'er Mountain.
In history, Nanjiao Village, which once relied on the coal mining industry to become extremely wealthy and prosperous in commerce, was known as "Little Beijing in the West of Beijing". It has long been dusty, but its legacy still remains. Turn into Hongnan Road from the old line of National Highway 108, and after walking 8.5 kilometers, you will see the ancient-style Nanjiao Village.
Nanjiao Village belongs to Nanjiao Township. Three east-west roads run through this small mountain village. Hongnan Road in the north is the main street and has the most residents. South Street runs along the river, with large flowers and colorful flowers. There are three parking lots for visitors to park and visit. The 1.2-kilometer ancient village road in the middle is the core of the tour, with original Ming and Qing style.
First of all, I was attracted by the red theater building next to the parking lot. It has a complete stage and a row of vivid facial masks. It seems like I can see the singing artists on the stage and the villagers applauding and cheering in the audience.
After walking across the small bridge, a large hollow locust tree stood in the street. I was impressed by its towering majesty and stopped to look up. In fact, it was only after the tour that I realized that there are several ancient trees like this in the village. The houses can be rebuilt, but the ancient trees need to wait a hundred years.
On the west side of the ancient locust tree, red lanterns are hung high in the "Beilou Bookstore". The bookstore is a bookstore. There are many famous squires in the ten miles and eight villages of Nanjiao Village, who are knowledgeable and knowledgeable. wide. Nanjiao Village prospered during the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods. Relying on the coal mining industry, merchants from all over the world gathered here. Temples, theaters, shops, casinos, etc. appeared here, making it very lively.
This is the only place that leads to Shangdao Ancient Street, so the west wall of Beilou Bookstore is written with the words "Nanjiao Village, Taipingli, Fangshan County, Shuntian Prefecture" to show merchants and visitors from all walks of life.
A Niangniang Temple was abandoned a hundred years ago. In ancient times, it served as the Boxer Bureau (the tax department of the Qing Dynasty). In modern times, it has been used as a grain store and school. Now it is the Nanjiao Township History Exhibition Hall.
In 1980, a villager dug out a large copper seal in his yard with a square base, 8.5cm in side, 2cm in thickness, and 4.7cm in handle. It was written in Yangwen nine-fold seal script " "Dutong's Seal" is the official seal of a third-grade military attache in the Jin Dynasty. From this, it can be inferred that there were troops stationed in the Nanjiao area during the Jin Dynasty to guard the fortresses around Jinling. This precious cultural relic has become the "treasure of the town" in Nanjiao Township.
The cross-street building covered by ancient trees is synonymous with simplicity and vicissitudes of life. The large bluestone and white mortar structure is authentically presented in front of you. In addition to being a must-pass gate for entering the village, it also has another purpose of providing a place for people passing by. It is convenient for merchants to pay taxes.
When you enter the ancient street, you are transported back a hundred years ago. Almost both sides of the road are old and dilapidated houses and walls that have been uninhabited for a long time. However, there are a pair of colorful lanterns hanging high every few meters. .
In the old days, Nanjiao Village’s Lantern Festival, Lions Club, and Flag Festival were famous far and wide. People flocked to watch them and it was very lively. This 1-kilometer-long "Lantern Street" tells stories such as "One Hundred and Eight Generals of the Water Margin" and "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms". You can enjoy it carefully if you have time.
On a long street, ancient houses and courtyards, limestone tiles, full of antique flavor, are lined with shops on both sides, shop after shop, such as "Zheng Da Hao" and "Yang Ji Mutton" Shop", "Zhao Ji Fried Goods Shop", "Janzhi Fang", "Little Stove Maker", "Dowry Shop", "Zhaojia Tofu Shop", "Yihe City", etc. are all full of tea, rice, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar and tea. Life Commercial Street will dazzle you.
A shop tells a story. In the Bagong Courtyard lived a Zhao Bagong, who was in the seventh rank of the Qing Dynasty. He returned to his hometown to take care of himself in his later years. A prince took a fancy to this Lingshui treasure land and wanted to build a mausoleum here. Zhao Bagong cleverly dealt with it in every possible way, so that Nanjiao Village was preserved.
A scholar named Li Lin had excellent medical skills. One day, I wrote an impromptu poem on the wall of a hotel in the capital, "This store is prosperous and specializes in tricking the master. The window paper is torn and there are big holes in the ceiling." From then on, I got to know the owner of the store. Later, the owner of the medical shop recommended Gege to see a doctor from the prince's family in Tongzhou. The prince, thinking of Li Lin's superb medical skills, sent a plaque with the message "Confucian medicine helps the world".
There are many famous squires in Nanjiao Village, such as the Wang Family Courtyard, the Luo Family Courtyard, the Huo Family Courtyard...
These once prosperous large family courtyards are now in dilapidated condition. But it also retains its original style. In a small courtyard overgrown with weeds, there are countless unknown stories that have happened here. The dilapidated house has not seen its owner come back for a long time, until he himself also returns to dust...
North Pole in the east of the village Xuanwu Temple is under renovation.
After visiting the ancient streets, I stood on Hongnan Road, overlooking the vast blue slate roofs. Only the towering old trees remained here, silently watching the hundreds of years of people coming and going. The situation has changed...
Fortunately, the old tree is still luxuriant, but things have changed under the tree. How many stories of joy, anger, sorrow, and joy have happened here, only the old tree has the deepest heart. clear.
