Ninghua County is located in the west of Fujian Province, with latitude 25 58 ′-26 40 ′ north and longitude116 22 ′-17 02 ′ east. The total area is 338 1.3 square kilometers. At the end of 2003, the registered population was 3 1.6 1 10,000, including 53,700 non-agricultural people. Qingning dialect, a Hakka dialect in western Fujian, is popular. It belongs to Sanming City.

The county people's government is located in Cuijiang Town, and the county has jurisdiction over 4 towns and 12 townships (including 1 ethnic townships): Cuijiang Town, Quanshang Town, Hucun Town, Shibi Town, Suburb Township, Chengnan Township, Jicun Township, Huaitu Township, Fangtian Township, Anle Township, Caofang Township, Zhiping She Township and Zhongfang Township.

Ninghua is one of the counties in the central Jiangsu province and enjoys the policy treatment in the western region. Ninghua is also one of the starting points of the Long March of the Central Red Army. Shibi Village, Ninghua County is the ancestral home of Hakka.

In 667, Huanglian Town was located in Huanglian Cave in the second year of Ganfeng in Tang Dynasty, and it was promoted to county in the thirteenth year of Kaiyuan (725). In the first year of Tianbao (742), it was renamed Ninghua County, which belonged to Jianzhou, Tingzhou Prefecture (Linting County) and Tingzhang Road. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War, Ninghua, Peng Pai and Quanshangsu counties were set up in the territory. 19491October 2 1 day was peacefully liberated, and it belonged to Yong 'an Special Zone, Longyan Special Zone, Sanming Special Zone (region) and Sanming City. 1February, 959 to 196 1 June, 2008, it was merged with Qingliu County as Qingning County.

After adjustment, Ninghua County has jurisdiction over four towns, 1/township and1ethnic townships: Cuijiang Town, Quanshang Town, Hucun Town, Shibi Town, Suburb Township, Chengnan Township, Jicun Township, Huaitu Township, Fangtian Township, Anle Township, Caofang Township, Zhongsha Township and so on. According to the data of the fifth census, the total population of the county is 298,434. On February 20th, 200212020, the list of provincial civilized cities in Fujian Province was released, and Ninghua County was listed.

On October 9, 2020, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment awarded Ninghua County the title of the fourth batch of national demonstration cities and counties for ecological civilization construction.

In June, 2020, Ninghua County was listed in the second batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (Long March Area (Red Army)).

On March 20 19, ninghua county was included in the list of the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (formerly the central Soviet area).
