Shanghai University of Finance and Economics originated from the business course founded by Nanjing Normal University in 19 17. 192 1 year The school moved to Shanghai and founded Shanghai University of Commerce. 1932 was established independently and named as National Shanghai Business School. 1950, the school was renamed Shanghai Institute of Finance and Economics. 1985, the school was renamed Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

The school covers an area of 8 12.9 mu and has three campuses. The main school is located at 777 Guoding Road. At present, there are 20,470 students of all kinds. According to the classification of students, there are 8,066 full-time undergraduates, 6,509 master students, 335 doctoral students/kloc-0, and 50 international students/kloc-0.
