Nowadays, in the face of huge employment pressure, many friends think of starting their own businesses. However, a successful entrepreneur must have a sense of risk, a comprehensive pre-planning and investment budget, and a good attitude. Therefore, for many friends who intend to start an Internet cafe at present, the opening process of Internet cafes must be mastered.

Liu Yan just graduated from college last year. Because of her major, she didn't find a good job for a while. During the Chinese New Year, Liu Yan visited relatives and friends and found that there were not many Internet cafes in her city (provincial city). So I decided to borrow some money from my parents and relatives, and planned to open a small and medium-sized (100) Internet cafe in my city.

Where is the business location chosen?

The business location directly affects the business of Internet cafes. In a good location, the crowd flow is relatively dense, and the business is naturally better, but the rent and other expenses are relatively high.

Lot and rent: near the university, on the second floor of the facade house, the rent is 2000 yuan per month.

Business target: college students and employees of surrounding factories.

The choice of business location should be based on the situation of yourself and your customer base. It is suggested that Internet cafes should be built in places with certain consumption capacity, such as prime locations in the city and near schools. If it is located in the student family, the business place should be near the school, preferably near the college; If it is for office workers and white-collar workers, the business location can be chosen next to office buildings and hotels.

Tip: It should be noted that according to the Regulations on the Administration of Internet Service Business Sites, Internet service business sites are not allowed to be established within 200 meters around middle schools and primary schools and in residential buildings (hospitals).

Liu Yan chose the vicinity of a normal university in her city. In addition to this normal university, there are several colleges and factories nearby (Figure 1). The main target of Internet cafes is college students, and the secondary target is employees of surrounding factories. The reason why the Internet cafe is built on the second floor of the facade room is to save the rent. In addition, it is chosen near colleges and universities to prevent minors from entering Internet cafes.

Tip: According to the Regulations on the Administration of Internet Service Business Sites, the business units of Internet Service Business Sites shall not accept minors into their business sites.

How large is the Internet cafe?

The cost of internet cafes varies with the scale, and the specific scale depends on your own funds, the expected number of Internet users and the relevant laws and regulations in your location.

According to the Regulations of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture on the Administration of Internet Service Sites, the approval of Internet cafes to set up business units of Internet service sites shall meet the requirements of the total number and layout of business units of Internet service sites stipulated by the cultural administrative department of the State Council and the cultural administrative departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.

Tip: Generally, it is stipulated that the total number of computer equipment in each Internet cafe in municipalities directly under the central government, provincial capital cities and cities under separate state planning shall not be less than 60; In municipalities directly under the central government, provincial capital cities and cities under separate state planning, the total number of computer equipment in Internet cafes shall not be less than 30; Each Internet cafe in the western region, counties and towns can appropriately reduce the total number of computer equipment.

Because Liu Yan is located in a provincial city, the size of the Internet cafe shall not be less than 60 computers. He decided to open an Internet cafe with the scale of 60 computers, and the rented house area is160m2 (about 20m long and 8m wide), so that besides the space occupied by computers of 2× 60 =120m2, and the space occupied by toilets, service desks and aisles (about 30m2), there is also/kloc-.

Tip: According to the national regulations, the area occupied by each computer in an Internet cafe should generally not be less than 2 square meters.

The rented house was originally a civil building structure. In order to save and reasonably use the space, Liu Yan decided to open the middle partition wall through communication with the developer, designed an aisle with a width of 1 meter, and opened a special fire safety exit. On the left side of the house, there are rows of 1 1, with 4 computers in each row and ***44 computers (Figure 2), and on the right side, there are 9 rows with 2 computers in each row, with *** 18 computers, totaling 62 computers, of which 2 are servers of Internet cafes.

How much is the investment?

Many people only see the owners of Internet cafes counting the money of netizens. In fact, people are often confused by the superficial scenery, but they don't know that there is bitterness behind the owners of Internet cafes. Only after careful calculation can we determine whether Internet cafes are worth investing in.

Initial investment budget: about 250,000 yuan.

Monthly operating cost: about 9,000 yuan.

Estimated monthly income: 1.26 million or so.

In terms of the initial investment budget, according to the current market price, the average price of each computer is about 3,000 yuan, so Liu Yan needs 3,000× 62 =186,000 yuan to buy computers. The investment of network equipment in Internet cafes includes special router for Internet cafes (2,000 yuan), three switches (2,400 yuan) and network cables, totaling 5,000 yuan. The cost of tables and chairs, air conditioners, drinking fountains and other equipment in Internet cafes is about 20,000 yuan. The renovation cost of Internet cafes is about 20,000 yuan, including glass doors, renovation construction costs, renovation materials costs and light box advertisements. In addition, the total cost of applying for the "Internet Cafe Cultural Operation License" and related documents is about 20,000 yuan. In this way, the initial investment amount is about 250,000 yuan.

Tip: If the funds are tight, you can consider joining the Internet cafe alliance, so that you can get some renovation funds.

After the formal operation of the Internet cafe, if the average operating time of each computer is 12 hours, then the monthly operating cost is roughly: 2000 yuan for rent, about 4000 yuan for electricity, 1500 yuan for broadband, 1000 yuan for staff, and about 9000 yuan for other expenses in 500 yuan.

If calculated according to the average daily business hours of each computer 12 hours, the monthly gross income = 60 PCs × 1 yuan/hour×12 hours× 30 days = 21600 yuan.

After deducting the monthly operating cost, the monthly income is 21600-9000 =12600 yuan. However, compared with the initial investment of 250,000 yuan, it takes about 250,000 yuan/1.26 million yuan ≈20 months to recover the cost. If the business is good, the cost can basically be recovered in one and a half years.

How to apply for an Internet cafe license?

To open an Internet cafe, it must pass the examination of the cultural department, the public security organ, the fire department and the administrative department for industry and commerce, otherwise it will be banned by the corresponding law enforcement departments.

Fees: initial fee, management fee, production fee, etc. For specific fees, please consult relevant departments and chain Internet cafe operators.

Relevant units: industrial and commercial administrative departments, cultural administrative departments, fire departments, public security organs, ISP, chain Internet cafe operating enterprises.

At present, the state implements a licensing system for the business activities of business units in Internet service sites. According to the original regulations of the state, the general process of opening an Internet cafe is as follows:

First of all, you can go to the local administrative department for industry and commerce to register the enterprise name, get a good name for your Internet cafe and register it.

Then, choose an ISP, sign an agreement of intent for Internet access service, and pay relevant fees.

Then, Internet cafe operators should apply to the local county (city, district) level cultural administrative departments, fill in the Application Form for Project Establishment of Network Cultural Management Activities and submit relevant materials. The administrative department of culture shall make a decision within 20 working days from the date of receiving the application; After examination, if it meets the requirements, the approval documents for the preparation will be issued.

After obtaining the approval document from the administrative department of culture to set up an Internet cafe, the Internet cafe operator shall also apply to the fire department and public security organ at the county (city, district) level for issuing the Fire Safety Inspection Opinion and the Network Security Management Software Installation Certificate, and submit relevant materials. The public security organ shall make a decision within 20 working days from the date of receiving the application; After on-the-spot inspection and examination, an approval document will be issued.

Internet cafe operators hold the approval documents of the fire department and the public security organ to apply to the cultural department for final examination, and the cultural administrative department shall make a decision within 15 working days from the date of receiving the application, and issue the Network Culture Business License after on-site inspection and examination. Finally, Internet cafe operators can apply for registration with the permit to the administrative department for industry and commerce, and obtain the Business License according to law.

However, since 2002, the state has stopped approving the Network Culture Business License for operating Internet cafes, and Internet cafes have been classified as "restricted industries". In 2004, the national cultural department stipulated that only qualified chain Internet cafes were eligible to apply for the Network Culture Business License, and individual Internet cafes were no longer approved.
