Qiaoshi Town was originally named Qiaoxi, and later it was one of the timber distribution centers in Yuanshui. In addition, it was famous for producing sweet-scented osmanthus sugar, and the market town prospered year by year, becoming the market town next to Qihe River in Taoyuan, and was changed to Qiaoshi Town one by one.
The town is located on the north bank of Yuanshui River, 20 kilometers northeast of Taoyuan County. It has a history of nearly 500 years of civilization and initially formed a market during the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, due to the continuous development of economy, it became a "giant town with one city" and was called "Qixi City". "Ci" means "corner", and "Xi" refers to a stream from Wugui Village to Guanyin Bridge that enters Yuanshui. Because Ci Town was built here (centered on Guanyin Bridge), it was named Ci Xi City.
