Fangcheng Town was named after Fangcheng, and it was the hometown of guarding the city in the Spring and Autumn Period. As early as four or five thousand years ago, there were human activities here. From the Western Han Dynasty to the Jin Dynasty, Guchengli Village was under the jurisdiction of Huaxian County.

In the late Qing Dynasty, it was the Fangcheng Society of Feixian County, and in the early Republic of China, it was the third district of Feixian County.

1958 was changed to Fangcheng town in March, and Fangcheng commune was established in the autumn of the same year. /kloc-0 was named Fangcheng town in September, 1985.
