The school originated from Nanjing Institute of Finance and Trade founded in 1983. 1987 was renamed nanjing audit university, which was jointly organized by the National Audit Office and the Nanjing Municipal People's Government. 19901February was transformed into a university directly under the National Audit Office. In February 2000, the school management system was adjusted to be established by Jiangsu Province and the National Audit Office, with Jiangsu Province as the main management. In April, 2002, the former Nanjing Finance College merged to form a new nanjing audit university.
