When he was young, Mao Lixiang suffered from rheumatoid arthritis, and he could not walk for a time. He had to drop out of high school when he was nearing graduation. Later, he became an accountant, and his legs didn't get better until he was 28 years old. He went to supply and marketing and took painkillers with him. No matter how tired he is as an enterprise, Mao Lixiang has a strong willpower. "He can bear it in the most painful time." He put herbs and moxa on swollen joints, and the fire was sizzling.
Now his life is very regular. Get up at 6 o'clock in the morning and jog with my wife. "I don't play mahjong, I can't ride a bike or drive a car. In the past, I struggled by walking around on two legs." Two people will go to have a head massage and a foot bath together twice a week. Before the pressure came, Mao Lixiang wanted to be a writer, and when he was in poor health, he also wanted to be a doctor (he could acupuncture and prescribe drugs). "At that time, there was almost no idea of being an entrepreneur." But after he devoted himself to the enterprise, those personal interests gave up long ago, and he didn't have time to take care of his family and children. "The fate was arranged unconsciously, and people kept getting and losing it."
Mao Lixiang feels that being a business is very happy. "This is a kind of fun, and it is hard for others to imagine." Overcoming a difficulty once is a kind of happiness, but he will soon face new difficulties, and the pressure he bears is different at different stages.
1986 his factory processed spare parts for black-and-white TV sets, but the TV sets could not be sold, which also affected his benefits. Workers walked away and scolded. In order to find new products, Mao Lixiang ran here and there, and the bus he took in other places turned into the ravine twice. "Bad things and troubles came together. But people just need patience and perseverance. "
In 1993, new problems appeared again, trying to make new products, but the audio-visual learning machine failed. Until 1997, the second venture of the range hood was initially smooth, and Mao Lixiang felt the most tired during that time.
He has long been used to pressure and often reflects on it. In his book, he quoted Si Long, president of General Motors, as saying that "detachment and loneliness are sometimes synonyms". In Mao Lixiang's view, entrepreneurs should have triple detachment: First, they should get rid of the shackles of routine work and have more energy to consider major issues of enterprises; Second, it is detached from ordinary people's thinking and has innovative consciousness; Third, he is detached from ordinary and vulgar interpersonal relationships. None of his five brothers, sisters and relatives work in Fangtai.
Mao Lixiang thinks that Fang Tai's bottleneck now is to compete with multinational companies such as Electrolux and Siemens, and how to make efforts in management, talents and product research and development. What worries him most is that Fangtai has been very stable and its brand has risen rapidly, but it has not yet passed the test of crisis and experienced great storms.
