The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is a regional intergovernmental financial development institution dedicated to promoting the economic and social development of developing members in Asia and the Pacific. Since 1999, ADB has particularly emphasized that poverty alleviation is its primary strategic goal. It is not affiliated with the United Nations, but was established under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (1 UNESCAP) and has close ties with the United Nations and its regional and specialized agencies. ADB was established on124 October, and its headquarters is located in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. China ranked third (6.44%), and Japan and the United States tied for first place (15.60%). According to the voting rights of countries, China is also the third (5.45%); Japan and the United States tied for first place (12.78%)2. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a policy loan of US$ 300 million to China (PBL) on Wednesday to help China solve the air pollution problem that has long plagued the capital Beijing and its surrounding areas. This is the first time that ADB has provided policy loans to China.
