When I learned that I was lucky enough to receive the national scholarship, I was filled with excitement and gratitude. My first thought was that I could take some of the burden off my family. After evening study, I couldn't wait to call my family and tell them the good news. They were very happy after hearing this. That night, I was so excited and thought about a lot.

It is often said that no matter how hard you work, you will reap something. There is no such thing as nothing in the world, but there is a situation where beggars go around begging for money. Get what they want. But they must sell their dignity. So, I feel that although I received a national scholarship, it was not free. I think this is an investment in us by the state and the school. This contains the expectations of the country and the school. In fact, this makes me feel like I am in a dream, so unreal but full of expectations.

First of all, I would like to thank the country for creating an era where we can go to college, thank the country for its care, and thank the country for its support in helping my family tide over the difficulties. Allow me to study with heart and happiness at university. I used to be very selfish. I longed to get into a good university, find a good job, get a high salary, and be no longer poor, so that my parents would no longer have to suffer and worry. Let them live happily in the future. Because my parents have never left me since I was a child, I have a very deep relationship with my parents. Because of this, I can see them working every day. Every day they come back very late, covered in sweat and exhausted, which makes me feel sad when I see them. Therefore, I made up my mind to study hard, so I never cared about national affairs. But now I don’t think so anymore. I shouldn’t be so selfish. We Chinese people value repaying kindness the most. It has always been China’s traditional virtue and has taken root in the hearts of the bright red people. As a college student, how can I not carry it forward?

Here I would like to thank the school and all the leaders of the school. Thank you for fighting for the opportunity for us and running for us so that we can have this opportunity. Now, I am a member of this school, and I have an obligation to maintain the honor of this school. But I know that the greatest hope of school leaders is that every student in the school can grow up and become a talented person. Every college student can graduate with honor. Everyone can find good jobs. Although I cannot guarantee that every college student can study hard, I can guarantee myself. Third, we must actively participate in various practical activities in the school to improve our practical abilities. What we study now is not only learning knowledge, but also learning our hands-on ability. We must apply what we learn to practical life.

Fourth, we must take the initiative to interact with people. We are part of society, and we will enter the real society in the future. School is a small society. We must learn how to get along with others so that we can gain a foothold in the real society. We will encounter many difficulties in life, so we need help from others. Sometimes if our family is not around, we have to find friends. We must unite classmates, be friendly to classmates, and respect teachers.

Fifth, we must improve our own quality, including scientific and cultural quality, ideological and moral quality, etc. At least we should not do things that harm the country and the school. At the same time, we must fight against behaviors that endanger the interests of the country and the school.
