Yan-shaped bottles first appeared in the Song Dynasty, and it is generally believed that they first appeared in the Southern Song Dynasty. As for whether the swallow bottle was produced in the Northern Song Dynasty, there is still no unified view. Antique prevailed in Song Dynasty, and this bottle shape was changed by imitating the shape of jade cong of Liangzhu culture in Neolithic age. Both the official kiln and Longquan kiln in the Southern Song Dynasty had this shape.

The vessels of different dynasties have their own characteristics in shape:

● Short-body Song Guan kiln bottle; Longyao bottle in Song Dynasty, slender.

● Longquan kiln in Yuan Dynasty also fired conjoined bottles.

● In the Ming Dynasty, Guangdong Shiwan Kiln produced more bottles of this kind, and applied more moon white glaze.

● After entering the Qing Dynasty, the horizontal play of the body became a gossip pattern, so it was later called the "gossip bottle". A large number of bottles were burned in official kilns in Qing Dynasty, including blue and white glaze, white glaze, furnace average glaze, imitation Jun glaze, imitation official glaze and imitation Ge kiln glaze.
