Generally speaking, it cannot exceed the principal. The specific provisions are as follows: the interest rate agreed by the borrower and the lender shall not exceed the annual interest rate of 24%, and the court shall support it. The interest rate agreed between the borrower and the borrower exceeds the annual interest rate of 36%, and the interest agreement in excess is invalid.

Legal basis:

Article 680 of the Civil Code of People's Republic of China (PRC) prohibits high-interest lending, and the lending rate shall not violate the relevant provisions of the state.
