Heyuan polytechnic is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning organized by Heyuan Municipal People's Government. It is a model higher vocational college in Guangdong Province, a civilized unit in Guangdong Province, an advanced school in civilized campus in Guangdong Province, a high-level vocational college in Guangdong Province, a pilot school for deepening the reform of educational evaluation in the new period in Guangdong Province, a pilot school for digital campus construction in vocational colleges nationwide, and a pilot school for modern apprenticeship in the Ministry of Education.

The school is located in Jiangdong New District, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. It is backed by Wutongshan, facing Dongjiang and near the East Ring Road. It has beautiful scenery and convenient transportation. The school covers an area of 83,854 mu, with a total construction area of 334,200 square meters (including non-school property rights and independent use of the school).

200 1 School was upgraded from Guangdong Laolong Normal School and founded on 1930. In 2004, it moved to Heyuan city as a whole. At the end of 2007, it passed the evaluation of talent training in higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education. In 20 10, it became one of the 15 vocational colleges in the province.

20 1 1 became one of the pilot colleges for enrollment in the third and second stage of the province. In 20 13, it was approved as the second batch of demonstration higher vocational colleges in Guangdong province. 20 18 passed the project acceptance and became a model higher vocational college in Guangdong Province. In August 2022, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, it became one of the 30 provincial-level high-level vocational colleges.

The school currently has 17725 students, 85 staff1person (including on-the-job and employed personnel), including 680 full-time teachers, including 175 with the title of associate senior middle school or above, 375 doctors and masters, and 540 double-qualified teachers.
