If you remit money from abroad, you don't need to transfer it from an intermediate bank, which saves time and has few intermediate links.
If you want to open an account, I suggest you just open a current all-in-one account and bring your ID card. Just tell the remitter the account number and the swift code (ask BOC for it, the swift code of each BOC is different).
