When I first entered the university, I was still full of confidence in everything. With the yearning for the profession of lawyer, I naturally positioned my career ideal as a lawyer. But through the in-depth investigation of the holiday, I deeply feel that my ideal is far from being as easy to realize as I imagined. With the saturation of public security colleges and the sharp increase in the number of law graduates, the ice age of law employment has arrived. This semester, I took the course of Teacher Zhou's legal career planning, and I began to re-examine myself. "People without planning will be planned", so a good career planning is very important. Thinking before acting is more directional and valuable. Therefore, I plan my future career from the following aspects. Second, what kind of person am I? This is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer in the world. Many people have been exploring themselves endlessly all their lives, but still can't answer this question accurately. But I know myself best in the world. In this contradiction, I strive to find my original self and constantly improve myself, so as to better plan my future career. I am an outgoing person, sometimes even a little crazy; My extroverted personality makes it easy for me to communicate with others, easily integrate into a team, and have good communication skills and teamwork skills. But sometimes it is not stable enough to be trusted. And I like to deal with different people, especially those who are capable, and learn from others' growth and successful experience. However, when you meet people who are better than yourself, you will easily feel inferior and lack confidence, so if you work with them, you will be afraid to show yourself. Sometimes I prefer to be in a daze, become a little introverted and unwilling to talk, a little sentimental, like to listen to sadness at quiet night, like to listen to the rain by the window, like to read a book quietly in a warm afternoon, and like to keep writing. I am changeable, sometimes giving people a feeling of uncertainty. I'm a serious person, trying to be the best and competitive, but sometimes I can't handle things flexibly because I'm too paranoid, and I seem a little dull and lack innovative consciousness. Many times, the logic is good and the organization ability is strong, but the execution is poor. Many times, the idea has not been realized for a long time, so we can only wait for the idea to become a fantasy. I always thought that values were a vague word, but I always thought that women were not necessarily inferior to men. In real life, I am also tired of that kind of male chauvinism and women who only want to get money or status by men and marriage. As I often say to my mother: I only hope that whatever I want in the future, whether it is ice cream or architecture, I can get it by myself without relying on anyone. I wish I were at home. Three. Employment direction and prospect of law major (I) Employment direction Law, as a humanities subject, covers a wide range and has a broad employment direction. College law graduates mainly have the following employment directions: 1. Pass the civil service examination and enter the judicial organs, procuratorial organs, public security organs and other organs. 2. Pass the national judicial examination and enter the lawyer industry. The typical career path is paralegal → lawyer → partner of the firm. 3. Engaged in teaching and scientific research, at least master's degree is required. 4, legal affairs, the typical career path is assistant → supervisor → senior legal adviser. 5. Be a legal "marginal person", such as a reporter who runs the legal line in the media, acting as an intellectual property agent in intellectual property, or doing foreign trade work. (II) Prospects With the development of national economy, science and technology and society, China's legal system construction is also in a period of rapid development and gradual improvement. Especially since China's entry into the WTO, the demand for legal talents in society has increased sharply, especially in economic organizations and law firms. As a sunrise discipline, law major has great development prospects from the perspective of social needs. Judging from the employment situation of law graduates, they have a solid professional foundation and can engage in legal services in procuratorial organs, judicial organs, administrative organs, enterprises and institutions, social organizations, arbitration institutions and legal service institutions. The employment prospects are very broad. However, it is undeniable that compared with the employment difficulty of some majors such as economy, finance and economy, the employment outlet of law is narrow. Even graduates from key universities have not entered the legal system for various reasons. The main reason is that the quality of legal talents is very high in society, and law firms and other relevant legal departments can't accept such a large influx of students, so most students can only change careers after graduation. Law majors have high requirements for talents' quality and academic qualifications. They should not only have good professional ethics and quality, but also have profound professional knowledge background and interdisciplinary industry knowledge. In recent years, with the higher education requirements for legal talents, the employment situation of law undergraduates is not optimistic. However, highly educated law graduates, especially those majoring in economics and international communication, have broad employment prospects. The career development direction of law students is that when they change careers, most of them also choose to engage in "law"-related industries, or serve as legal consultants in enterprises, or as legal editors and journalists in the media. Some change their major according to their personality and specialty. When the "Fa" post closed the door to them, they did not squeeze the wooden bridge, but found another way. Their professional knowledge has played an important role in signing commercial contracts, negotiating and safeguarding the interests of enterprises, so they have an advantage over those who specialize in management. Four. Career choice (I) Career choice and realization path After consulting the employment direction and prospect of relevant legal majors in detail and combining my actual situation, my first goal in career choice is to be a foreign lawyer; The second goal is legal affairs; The third target is civil servants. After setting my goals, I fully realized that these three goals are difficult to achieve. The first two goals have extremely high professional requirements, which require not only systematic and complete legal knowledge and rigorous logical thinking, but also professional knowledge such as very flexible adaptability and skilled language debate ability. Foreign lawyers and lawyers need extremely rich experience, which cannot be done overnight. As for the third target civil servant, as we all know, in recent years, the number of civil servant examinations is increasing day by day, and the civil servant profession is favored by more and more graduates because of its stability. It is reported that the number of national civil servants who passed the examination in has exceeded 10,000, and the average competition ratio of each position is 78: 1. The competition is fierce. In the wave of enrollment expansion, undergraduate graduates are no longer the darling of the times, and the knowledge they have learned can not fully meet the needs of their careers, so I choose to go abroad for further study or continue my graduate studies. Because of the goal of choosing foreign lawyers, my initial plan was to study international commercial law abroad. The original plan was York University in Canada. (2) Decision-making reasons and factors (mainly using SWOT to enter the first career option) Advantages (S) 1, like to communicate with people, good team spirit; 2. Can afford to study abroad or go to graduate school. Disadvantages (W) 1, sometimes not stable enough, impatient 2, weak execution 3, average oral English 4, average academic performance 5, narrow knowledge 5, insufficient opportunities for economic management knowledge (O) 1, China's entry into WTO, gradual improvement of legal system, and great demand for talents 2. There are more opportunities for study and internship. You know this industry well, and there are examples to follow. 4. The emerging space is large, and the employment channels are threatened (T) 1. 2. The competition in the same region is fierce (such as Peking University, National People's Congress, etc.). ) .3. The passing rate of postgraduate examinations is low, and the entry threshold for the lawyer industry is high. 4. The employment situation of the whole society is more severe, and the law major is more severe. 5. The demand for "public prosecution law" tends to be saturated. In addition, my personal character doesn't like too stable life and too theoretical things, so research work is not suitable for me and can't arouse my interest. Foreign lawyers are well-paid occupations and have high social status, which can meet my own expectations for future life. Although this is a difficult goal to achieve, it must be difficult to arouse the will to struggle, it is easier to be pursued, and it is easier to succeed when it is realized. And I don't think this is an unattainable goal in terms of my own ability and current situation. (3) Work content of foreign lawyers (data from Baidu) Foreign lawyers mainly refer to lawyers engaged in the following two aspects: First, providing legal services for China to enter the international market; The second is to provide legal services for foreign enterprises and individuals to invest and operate in China. At present, the domestic high-end foreign-related legal talents are simply not enough to meet the increasingly scarce demand. To alleviate the shortage, it needs at least five times the size of the existing talents. On the whole, due to historical reasons, lawyers in China are not professional enough. Many foreign lawyers are generally developed from paralegals. 1. Mastering and applying laws generally requires a bachelor degree or above in international law, private international law or international economic law. Pass the national unified judicial examination and obtain the lawyer qualification certificate. As far as my current study situation is concerned, my professional study is far from the level that a foreign lawyer or even an ordinary lawyer should have. The relaxed environment in the university makes me less interested in my study. The learning content is not systematic, and there is no complete and continuous legal thinking. Moreover, it is only theoretical study, and there is little contact with cases, making learning a castle in the air. The foundation is not solid, which leads to the state of forgetting while learning. 2, quick thinking, with very strong ability to deal with, respond to and solve legal problems. In this respect, although I think my ability to deal with problems is good, I feel that my ability is not strong enough, I can't understand the essence of things quickly and clearly, and my thinking is not agile enough. This reminds me that I must think more when I meet something, so that I can exercise my thinking. 3. Strong organization and coordination ability and innovation ability. According to the data, foreign lawyers are different from ordinary lawyers. There are many teams of foreign lawyers, so they must have good communication and coordination skills. I think I have done a good job in this respect. But I am a lazy person, sometimes a little inflexible. Therefore, from now on, I will think hard, study more and put forward my own opinions. 4. Solid official document writing ability and foreign language ability. Although I love writing, I don't have enough contact with official document writing, so I must give full play to my advantages in writing and try to master official document writing in the future. In addition, my English foundation is relatively good, but there is still a certain gap from proficient communication and reading English official documents, which must be improved. 5. Rich in knowledge. As can be seen from the work content of foreign lawyers, the work of foreign lawyers needs not only legal knowledge, but also rich economic and management knowledge, so I should pay more attention to this kind of knowledge in my daily study and understand its basic system. 6, rich experience is also very important, all walks of life. Therefore, I should look for more internship opportunities, even if I just serve tea and collect information in the law firm, I can be closer to the lawyer's workflow and working mode. Rome was not built from scratch in a day. Just like being a lawyer, you should also start with a paralegal, accumulate experience in practice and prepare for your rapid development. V. Study plan for the next three academic years (1) Time arrangement of sophomore semester. Half the time has passed this semester. As far as my current situation is concerned, the main task of sophomore year is to learn civil law and criminal law well. When studying Civil Law and Criminal Law II, we should review the general principles of civil law and criminal law in a planned way and establish a complete system of civil law and criminal law. And in my spare time, I will do more practical questions of the judicial examination, get in touch with more cases and think more. Buy some law-related newspapers regularly, browse the law-related, broaden your horizons, and don't just read textbooks. I am used to thinking in a lawyer's way. During the winter vacation of my sophomore year, I used the time before the Spring Festival to go to New Oriental to study IELTS. Use the time after the Spring Festival to consolidate. In the second semester of my sophomore year, I will decide whether to continue the course of New Oriental according to the specific circumstances. If I think it is basically ok, I will sign up for IELTS. If I feel I need to study again, I will continue the IELTS course in New Oriental weekend. In addition, you need to prepare for CET-4 in your spare time. In the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I went to a law firm for an internship (which was good enough), accumulated experience in practice and consolidated the learning content. At the same time, I will use this holiday to learn more about studying abroad through some intermediary and online materials. Make preliminary material and psychological preparations. Last semester, I spent part of my time reviewing Band 6. The other part does the final sprint of IELTS (provided that it has not been tested before) and starts to quote to the favorite school. And properly prepare for the postgraduate entrance examination. In the next semester and summer vacation of junior year, I mainly use this time to prepare for the sprint of judicial examination, and use comprehensive review to properly sort out professional knowledge and make preliminary preparations for postgraduate entrance examination.
