Typical Application of Jiangsu Excellent Big Data
On June 22nd, Jiangsu Meteorological Observatory officially announced that it would enter Mei on June 23rd. This year's "Miss Mei" came a little late. Did it come later? In what year was Meiyu "extended"? In what year did "Plum Rain at a glance" end?

Jiangsu Meteorological Service Center and Jiangsu Climate Center launched Jiangsu Meiyu Big Data to tell you what you don't know about Meiyu. The statistical period of data is 196 1 to 2020, spanning 60 years.

Meiyu, also called Huang Meiyu, refers to a period of large-scale rainy weather in the south of the Yangtze River when plums are ripe. As early as the Han Dynasty, there were related meteorological proverbs, and in the Jin Dynasty, there was even a saying that "midsummer rain is called it". In fact, Meiyu does not only appear in the south of the Yangtze River. This is a stage of the movement of the main rain belt in eastern China. When the main rain belt rose from south to north over the Jianghuai area, it was given this poetic name.

According to the statistics of Nanjing Meteorological Bureau and Jiangsu Meteorological Observatory on the data of Meiyu period in Nanjing in recent 50 years, the "temper" of Meiyu in Nanjing is slowly changing, although the rainfall of Meiyu in different years is obviously different.
