Meng Haoran was a poet of the Tang Dynasty. Meng Haoran was a Tang Dynasty poet. His real name is unknown (one says his name is Hao), a Han Chinese, and a native of Xiangyang, Xiangzhou (present-day Xiangfan, Hubei Province). He was known as "Meng Xiangyang", and together with another landscape poet Wang Wei, he was known as "Wang Meng". He wrote mainly idyllic landscape poems. He was also called Meng Shanren (孟山人), because he had never been an official. There is his former residence in the Jiannan Garden outside the South Gate of Xiangyang, which is located at the back of the mountain and facing the river. He used to live in seclusion at Lumen Mountain. The Autumn Ascent to Wanshan Sends Zhang Wu, Summer South Pavilion Wyatt Xin Da, Passing the Old Man's Manor, Spring Dawn, Staying at the Jiande River, and Returning to Lumen at Night are his masterpieces.
