I

Scope of Evaluation

The GDI Higher Vocational College Ranking evaluates 1,414 higher vocational colleges and universities in China, of which 1,094 are publicly-run institutions, 317 are privately-run institutions, and 3 are Chinese-foreign cooperative institutions. The ranking does not involve the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan colleges and universities.

Two

Indicator System

The obvious vocational, regional and industrial characteristics of higher vocational colleges and universities determine their evaluation system to be very different from that of undergraduate colleges and universities. The list sets up four first-level evaluation indexes that are highly operational: job market competitiveness index, education competitiveness index, brand competitiveness index and secondary evaluation index.

Career Competitiveness Index: Evaluating the employment situation of graduates from the dimensions of employment rate and employment quality, which is used to evaluate the competitiveness of graduates in the workplace. This index weights and analyzes indicators such as average starting salary and employer satisfaction through multiple channels of employment data such as recruitment websites.

Education Competitiveness Index: It mainly evaluates the development of higher vocational colleges and universities in both science and education, and advocates the mutual integration of scientific research and teaching, ****serving the cultivation of talents together, so as to effectively drive the production and reproduction of knowledge.

Brand Competitiveness Index: mainly evaluates the long-term accumulation of the construction effectiveness of institutions, this index through the questionnaire survey and big data capture, the media influence of colleges and universities, and other factors related to the brand evaluation. 2019 end of the announcement of the "double-high program" list of institutions, both affirmed the strength of the selected institutions, but also for measuring the strength of the institutions, and also for measuring the strength of institutions. The list of "Double High Program" institutions announced at the end of 2019 not only recognizes the strength of the selected higher vocational colleges and universities, but also provides an important basis for measuring the level of institutional development. Therefore, the GDI Higher Vocational College List has innovatively added the secondary index of "'Double-High Plan' Construction Institutions" to the Brand Competitiveness Index, in order to further enhance the competitiveness of higher vocational colleges and universities.

Secondary Assessment Index: By organizing a team of experts to professionally appraise several major influential university rankings at home and abroad, the credibility index is determined, and graded assignments of 5, 3-4, and 1-2 points are made to determine the score after comprehensive weighting. The index is another highlight of the rankings.
