The Department of Mathematics at South China University of Technology is located on the South Campus.

South China University of Technology, formerly known as the South China Institute of Technology, the earliest can be traced back to the establishment of the Guangdong Province in 1918, the first A type of industrial school, formally organized in 1952 the national higher education system restructuring period, is based on the Sun Yat-sen University College of Engineering, South China University Polytechnic, Lingnan University Polytechnic Engineering Department and specialties, the Guangdong Institute of Industrial Technology as the basis.
