(1) The historical evolution of CABI
. From September 1985 to May 1993, Jane CABInternational, Commonwealth Bureau of International Agriculture; In June 1993, it was renamed as the International Center for Agriculture and Biological Sciences (CABI;); In 2, it was changed to the International Center for Applied Biological Sciences (CABI).
CABI's purpose: to support agriculture, forestry, human health, natural resource management and other fields with information products through the dissemination, application and research of agriculture and biological sciences, and to serve human health. At present, 41 member countries have joined the organization, and China officially became a member of CABI in August 1995.
at present, CABI publishes, edits and maintains two large databases: CAB ABSTRACTS and GLOBAL HEALTH, from which many of its products are derived.
(II) AGRIS CD-ROM database
AGRIS CD-ROM database is a bibliographic database edited by the AGRIS Coordination Center and the International Agricultural Science and Technology Information System under the FAO. The database covers disciplines such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery, food science, earth science, environmental science, agricultural engineering, population, economy, law and education. Its literature comes from periodical papers, scientific reports and conference documents provided by 146 AGRIS national centers and 22 international organizations, and also includes a small number of patents and technical standards.
(3) AGRICOLA CD-ROM database
AGRICOLA database is a database jointly edited by American Agricultural Library (NAL), Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) and American Agricultural Economic Documentation Center (AAEDC). In addition to CD-ROM, this database can also be searched through online systems such as DIALOG and BRS. AGRICOLA's corresponding printed edition is American Bibliography
of Agriculture (
B of
A), which was founded in 1942 and published monthly.
