Tsinghua Statistics is in the Research Center for Statistics at Tsinghua University.

On May 16, 2014, the University Council of Tsinghua University approved the establishment of the Research Center for Statistics at Tsinghua University. The development goal of the Center is to "establish a high-level faculty, carry out high-level academic research, enhance exchanges and cooperation with related faculties and units, and build an international first-class statistical discipline in Tsinghua University as early as possible". The Center is an independent university-level academic institution, and its administrative affairs are attached to the Department of Industrial Engineering.

The Center relies on the favorable conditions of Tsinghua University in the fields of engineering, business and life sciences to carry out in-depth scientific research and teaching in the areas of basic statistical theory, statistical computing, biological and medical statistics, industrial statistics and business statistics. We strive to achieve important academic results with international influence in theoretical and applied statistics.

Since its establishment, the Center has always adhered to and practiced the development concept of "striving for the first class", and has built up a vigorous research team with outstanding young talents; established a complete research system of statistics, and focused on the development of biomedical statistics, industrial statistics, big data processing, and other research directions based on theories and methods of statistics. We have established a complete research system of statistics, focusing on the development of biomedical statistics, industrial statistics, big data processing, etc.

We have also established a complete training system for statisticians, covering all levels from undergraduate to doctoral and postdoctoral, and training nearly 100 statisticians of various types every year.
