When the carriage was unearthed, it looked very broken as a whole. After all, it has been buried underground for more than two thousand years. However, in the process of further cleaning, the experts found that the carriage was a bit unusual, because it was very luxurious in decoration, not only with gold and silver decorative strips, but also with gold foil and various bronze animals on the side plates, such as tigers, rams, wolves, etc., so the experts wanted to know what functions the carriage had.
After in-depth study, experts found that it was originally a courtesy car for Gu Rong people, and it was the representative of the country's "face" in diplomacy and sacrifice. What experts call "Gu Rong people", that is, Yi Qurong, originated in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties and mainly lived in the northwest. By the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Gu Rong people had established their own political power, and they constantly fought against neighboring vassal states, such as Wei and Qin. With the continuous strengthening of Qin's national strength, people's living space was gradually compressed, and the country was finally destroyed and assimilated by the Central Plains people.
Since this carriage has such a high historical value, it has become the unshirkable responsibility of experts to repair it. However, in the face of scattered broken skeletons and rotten wood and debris, experts are puzzled. Where should the repair work start? So, the experts met to discuss and came up with three repair tips:
The first trick: go to the grassland to collect information about ancient carriages.
Due to the long history and lack of historical records, how to accurately determine the key data of the carriage has become the most important step, such as the structural characteristics of the whole vehicle, the size of parts and even the decorative style of the appearance. Therefore, experts went deep into the grassland tribes in northwest China to look for ancient Eurasian grassland wagons, and collected massive data from these existing wagons, and then inferred the ancient carriage structure thousands of years ago.
The second trick: use computer modeling to select the massive data collected.
In the process of repairing the carriage, experts spend more than half of their time processing the massive data collected. Firstly, the mathematical model of ancient carriages is established by computer, and then all kinds of collected data are input, which are processed and screened by computer. Finally, leave useful data, eliminate useless data, and so on until all the key data information is obtained, and then carry out the next specific repair work.
The third measure: multiple types of synthetic decorative materials.
After some difficult data processing, archaeologists restored the structure of the whole car, and then restored the decoration, because decoration is the soul of this carriage. In terms of decoration, experts first carefully study and analyze the original decorative materials one by one, and then decorate the inside and outside of the car body with gold, silver, copper, tin, jade, turquoise and ruby in a reasonable proportion. Finally, according to the original carving patterns, they were restored to the new car one by one.
Through the joint efforts of experts in various fields, as well as the application of high and new technologies such as big data collection, computer screening and synthetic materials. It was not until 20 16 that this well-restored "China's first luxury car in ancient times" appeared in the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum Museum. Its exquisite design and luxurious decoration are reminiscent of ancient civilization, and its noble temperament seems to be innate.
