Lining up to test drive the Extended Range C11, recommended!
Two years ago, the programmable hybrid is advanced or backward debate, the future of the inconclusive, but with the Ideal rely on the extended range of the new power to stabilize the head of the chair has been more and more consumers began to realize that these issues are not really so important. So, the extended program hybrid technology is used by more and more brands.
March 1, Zero Run 2023 new conference C11 extended range version of the official announcement of the price, Zero Run is synonymous with cost-effective, but 149,800 yuan ultra-low starting price is still impressing a large wave of and so on the party's heart!
The new car is equipped with a 1.2T range extender and 30.1kWh/43.74kWh Li-ion ternary batteries with rear axle drive motors, and there are two choices of 180km and 285km of pure electric range (CLTC working condition standard).
On the first weekend back from the new product launch in Hangzhou, I rushed to the store for a test drive! I've briefly posted about the exterior and interior of the car before, but today I'm free to tell you more about the driving experience.
In line with the idea of letting users use more electricity and less fuel, compared with the pure electric version, the range extender version adds a 1.2T range extender, matched with a self-developed 88kW oil-cooled range extender generator system, which can provide extra electricity when the power battery is low.
The car I test drove was the high end version, equipped with a 43.74kWh lithium ternary battery pack, with a range of 285km under CLTC conditions, which is about a weekly charge for urban commuters like me who commute 40km or so a single day, basically eliminating the need for fuel. For weekend trips, you can use either gas or electricity, and you can do whatever you want.
In addition to the 43.74kWh Li-ion ternary battery pack, the Zero Run C11 Extended Range is also available with a 30.1kWh battery pack, which has a CLTC range of 180km. if you're on a limited budget, you might want to consider it. If you have the means to install private charging piles, I strongly recommend buying this version, which can basically realize a worry-free daily pure-electric commute with the support of private charging piles. Zero Run also announced a set of very convincing data in the new conference, Zero Run Auto based on the user's accumulated 2 billion kilometers of driving mileage of big data analysis shows that about 95% of the owners of the average daily mileage of 100 kilometers or less. So, as long as the charging conditions are good, 180km range is enough, and there is a more affordable price, wonderful!
The Zero Run C11 Extended Range is driven by a rear-mounted single motor, with good power output performance, and there is still a good sense of pushback when you put your foot down, so as a family car, I think its acceleration ability is perfectly adequate.
The driving style doesn't differ much from the pure electric setup, which also offers three modes to choose from: Easy, Sport, and Custom. In custom mode, there are options for adjusting power response, kinetic energy recovery, and steering assistance, so you can choose according to your personal preference. For example, I prefer a weaker power response and stronger energy recovery, with more moderate steering assistance.
The Zero Run C11 Extended Range also offers three modes of operation to be switched in order to better realize "more electricity, less fuel" in the driving mode strategy planning: extreme pure electricity, pure electricity priority, and fuel priority.
In both Ultimate Pure Electricity and Pure Electricity Priority, the vehicle will prioritize the use of power battery power. In the former, the range extender only intervenes when the SOC drops to 5 percent, so the word "extreme" is not an overstatement; in the latter, the range extender kicks in when the SOC reaches 20 percent.
Fuel Priority is generally used for long-distance driving, and when SOC is below 65 percent, the vehicle will try to operate the range extender in the most economical range possible, based on speed, road conditions, power output, and other factors, so as to achieve a longer range.
For the Zero Run C11 Extended Range, which is equipped with a large-capacity battery pack (CLTC pure electric range of 285km), the combined range can reach up to 1,024km on a full tank of fuel, and as for the lowest charge fuel consumption, it is 6.8L/100km under the WLTC standard, so you don't have to worry about turning into a "fuel tiger" in the fuel-priority mode. The most important thing to remember is that the car is not a fuel-guzzler.
The most important part of the chassis, the Zero Run C11 Extended Range is still equipped with a combination of front double-wishbone independent suspension and rear five-link independent suspension, and has been upgraded to include bushings and other parts, as well as suspension tuning. In terms of actual driving experience, after the upgrade, the chassis of the Zero Run C11 Extended Range is more tidy and supportive, and it is more comfortable when changing lanes at high speeds and going through sharp bends, and accordingly, the road feeling fed back to the occupants is clearer than that of the Zero Run C11 Pure Electric that was test driven before.
There is also a little gossip here, the exchange also learned that the new 2023 Zero Run C11 Pure Electric will also be synchronized with this new suspension style.
It is also worth praising the quietness of the C11 range extender, in the driving process, even if the range extender is in operation, there is no obvious mechanical noise, and we are worried about the range extender intervention moment "big noise" did not appear. In addition, it adopts double-layer laminated acoustic glass in four doors and sound-absorbing materials in many places throughout the car, effectively blocking tire noise and wind noise.
The overall test drive experience is still relatively good, although I still prefer pure electric models, but if there is a need for friends, this car is still worth recommending.
Additionally, I found that the exhaust port on the range extender version is hidden, so you can't tell if it's a pure electric or range extender without going to the front of the car. And, in the trunk compartment, I also found that it is equipped with a factory discharge gun/plug-in device that supports 3.3kW rated output power and 220V AC output. Plugging it into the connector on the right rear wing panel, it can meet the needs of outdoor lighting, cooking and other power needs, which is simply a "camping magic weapon".
Conclusion
Zero Run C11 Extended Range Edition is one of the most cost-effective programmable SUVs in the world, and there's no other one when it comes to mid-size SUVs. In the case of cost-effective and very competitive, its comprehensive product power is not weak, all aspects are noteworthy, the market is concerned about the degree of doubt, this weekend test drive are lined up, very much looking forward to next month's sales figures announced.
