The specific content of "Southeast Flight of the Peacock", that is, the original text, is as follows:

The preface says: At the end of the Han Dynasty, Jian'an, Lujiang Prefecture, a minor official, Jiao Zhongqing's wife, Liu's wife, was sent by Zhongqing's mother, who swore not to marry. His family forced it, was thrown into the water and died. Zhongqing heard, also hanged himself in the garden tree. The poem was written by a man who was hurt by the poem.

The peacock flew southeast, and wandered for five miles.

"Thirteen can weave, fourteen learn to cut clothes. Fifteen can play Konghou, sixteen can recite poems and books. She was the wife of the king, but her heart was always bitter and sad. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a woman like you before, but I'm sure you've never seen a woman like me before," he said. My concubine stayed in an empty room, and we saw each other only rarely. The cock crows and the knitting machine starts to weave, and I can't get any rest. I'm afraid I'm too late for the knitting. It is not because of the delay in weaving, but because it is difficult for a woman in your family to do so! I can't be driven, and I have nothing to do. I can return to you in time."

The government official heard of this and told his mother, "My son has already lost his fortune, but I am lucky to have this woman. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get a good deal on this, but I'm sure I'm going to be able to get a good deal on this. *** thing two or three years, began to be not long. The woman's behavior is not skewed, why do not you want to be generous."

A mother said the government officials: "Why is too district! This woman has no manners, and her actions are her own. I'm not sure how you can get away with this! The East has a virtuous woman, named Qin Luoshi. She has a poor body, which my mother seeks for thee. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get rid of her."

The government official knelt down and said, "I'm sorry, but I can't wait to hear from you. If I send this woman away now, I will never take her back!"

Mother got to hear it, hammering the bed will be furious: "The boy is fearless, how dare you help women say! I have lost my honor, and I will not follow you!"

The government officials were silent, and they went back to the house. The first time I saw this, I was so upset that I couldn't speak," he said, "I don't want to drive you away, but I'm forcing you to do it. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do, but I'm going to be able to do it," he said. Soon when the return, but also will meet to take. This is the next heart, do not disobey my words."

The new woman said the government official: "Do not repeat the confusion. In the past, at the beginning of the year, the Xie family came to your door. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do this, but I'm sure I'm going to be able to do it," she said. I've been working hard all day and night, and I've been suffering from a lot of pain and suffering. I said that I was not guilty, but I was very kind in providing for my children; but I was still being driven away, so I could not say that I would come back again! My concubine has an embroidered waist jacket, which is full of light; a red robe and a bucket tent, with scented pouches hanging from the four corners; sixty or seventy curtains, with green and blue silk strings, and all kinds of things are different, and all kinds of things are in them. People's cheap things are also despicable, not enough to welcome the descendants, left for the legacy of charity, in the present day there will be no cause. It is a comfort to me that I will never forget it."

The rooster crows, and the bride rises in her makeup. She is wearing an embroidered dress, and she knows everything about everything. Her feet are on silk shoes, and her head is covered with tortoiseshell. Her waist is like a flow of dandy, and her ears are like moon dannos. Her fingers are like sharpened green onions and her mouth is like vermilion. They have a delicate step, and their skill is unparalleled in the world.

When I went up to the hall to pay my respects to my mother, she was more than angry. I had no lessons to learn, and I was ashamed to be a member of a noble family. I was not able to get my mother to drive me around. Today, I am going home, remembering my mother's hard work." But I said goodbye to my sister-in-law, with tears falling down my cheeks. "When the bride first came, my sister-in-law helped me to the bed; today, I am being driven away, and my sister-in-law is like a long time ago. I will work hard to raise my grandma, and I will help each other. The first seven days of the year and the next nine days of the year, don't forget to play." I'm not going to be able to get out of the car, but I'm going to be able to get out of the car.

The government officials were in front of the car, and the bride was in the back. The first is the one that is not in the center of the world, and the second is the one that is not in the center of the world. Dismounted into the car, bowed his head **** whispered: "Swear not to be separated from the Secretary, and temporarily return home to go. I am now and go to the House, soon when to return. Swear that the sky will not be disappointed!"

The new woman said the government official: "Feeling Jun District Huai! I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do, but I'm going to be able to do it," she said. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do it. I have my own father and brother, and they are very good at what they do. I have a father and a brother who are as violent as thunder, and I am afraid that they will not fulfill my wishes, and that they will fry my bosom." I have a father and a brother, and I am afraid that they will not be able to fulfill my wishes.

The first thing I did was to go to the house, and I didn't have a face to show. The mother of the child did not want the child to return to the house: "Thirteen teach you to weave, fourteen can tailor, fifteen play konghou, sixteen know the etiquette, seventeen to send you to marry, so that there is no vow to violate. What is your offense now, not to welcome and return?" Lanzhi was ashamed of her mother: "I have no sin." The mother was greatly saddened and devastated.

Returning home for more than ten days, the county magistrate sent a matchmaker. The first time I saw him, he said, "I don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it.

Mother said to her daughter: "You can go and answer it."

The woman replied with tears in her eyes, "When Lancel first returned, the government official saw Ding Ning and swore not to part. Today, against the love and justice, I am afraid that this matter is not strange. Since the letter can be cut off, Xu more said."

The mother said, "This is the first time I've seen this woman in my life, and I've never been able to return to my family. I'm not sure if I'm a good match for your husband," he said. I'm sure you'll be able to make inquiries, but I'm not sure I'll be able to make a match."

The matchmaker went away for a few days, and then sent the prime minister to return, saying that there was a woman from the Lan family, who was a eunuch by birth. The first is that the first time I saw a man in the world, I was in the middle of it, and he was in the middle of it. The first time I saw this was when I was a student at the University of California, Berkeley, and I was a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do, but I'm sure I'm going to be able to do what I need to do to make it work.

Mother thanked the matchmaker: "The woman has sworn an oath first, how dare the old woman say that!"

A brother heard of it, frustrated and annoyed. The first thing he said was that he had no idea what he was going to do! The first thing I want to do is to get married to a government official, and then to the groom, who will be able to honor your body. If you don't marry a righteous man, what do you want to do?"

Lanzhi tilted her head and replied, "The truth is as my brother said. I'd like to thank my husband for his service, and I'd like to return to my brother's door in the middle of the road. The first thing I want to do is to make sure that I have a good understanding of what I'm doing and how I'm doing it! I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get the job done, but I'm sure I'm going to be able to get the job done right. I'm sure you'll be able to get married if you agree to it."

The matchmaker got out of bed. The government of the country is not a good place to be, but it is a good place to be," he said. The government has heard of this, the heart of the great joy. View the calendar to open the book, to facilitate this month, the hexagrams are corresponding. Good fortune 30 days, today is 27, the Secretary can go to the wedding. The language of communication is quick to dress up, and it is like a floating cloud. The green sparrow and the white swan boat, the four-cornered dragon's son streamer. The graceful winds turn, and the golden car is a wheel of jade. Tramping buckskin horses, tasseled gold saddles. A present of three million dollars, all threaded with green silk. There were 300 colorful horses and salmon treasures in the city of Jiaoguang. The four or five hundred men who accompanied him climbed up to the county gate.

Mother said to her daughter: "I got a letter from Mr. Fu, and I will come to meet you tomorrow. I'm not going to be able to get a good look at you," she said. I don't want to be a part of it."

The woman was silent, and her handkerchief covered her mouth as she cried, and her tears fell like water. The left hand holds a knife and ruler, and the right hand holds a damask. The dress is embroidered in the morning, and the shirt is made of a single piece of silk in the evening. The day is dark and all night long, and I cry out in sadness.

The government officials heard of this change, so they asked for leave to return temporarily. The first thing I did was to get to the top of the stairs, and I was able to get to the top of the stairs and get to the bottom of the stairs. The new woman recognized the sound of the horses and walked to meet them. The new woman recognized the sound of the horse, and walked to meet her. She lifted her hand and patted the saddle of her horse, and sighed with sorrow: "Since you left me, I have not been able to measure up to the people. It is not as good as I had hoped, and it is not as detailed as you had hoped. I have my own parents, persecution and brothers. I have my own parents, and I am forced to be a brother, but I have to answer to others.

The government official said to the new wife: "I congratulate you on your promotion! I'm going to the Yellow Springs alone."

The bride said to the official: "Why do you say that? The same is true for the concubine. I'll see you in the Yellow Springs, so don't go against today's words!" I'm not going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do it, and I'm going to be able to do it. How can we say goodbye to the living and the dead? I will never be able to say goodbye to the world again!

The government official returned home and went up to the hall to pay homage to his mother: "Today's wind is very cold, the cold wind destroys the trees, and the frost knots the garden orchids. The child today in the dark, your mother in the back single. Therefore, I made a bad plan, do not blame the ghosts and gods! My life is like a stone in the southern mountains, my body is healthy and straight!"

Mother heard this, and tears fell in response: "You are the son of a great family, and you serve in the court. I'm not going to die for a woman, I'm not going to die for a woman, I'm not going to die for a woman!

There is a good girl in the East family who is very pretty and beautiful, and my mother is looking for her, and she will be back soon."

The government official bowed again and sighed in the empty room. The first thing you need to do is to get your hands dirty.

The day of the oxen and horses, the new wife into the green hut. I'm not going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do it. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that, but I'm sure I'll be able to do it," he said! I'm going to take off my skirt and silk shoes, and I'm going to the pool.

The government officials heard about this and knew that they would be leaving for a long time. I'm not going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do that, and I'm going to be able to do that.

The two families asked to be buried together, and they were buried together in the vicinity of Mount Hua. The two of them will be buried together in the mountains of Huashan. The two of them are in the middle of the mountain, and the two of them are in the middle of the mountain. The two birds are named Mandarin Ducks. They tilted their heads up and chirped to each other, night after night until five o'clock. Pedestrians stop to listen to them, and widows begin to wander. Thank you, future generations, and be careful not to forget.

The translation is as follows:

Preface: At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, during the period of Jian'an (196-219 A.D.), Liu Lanzhi, the wife of Jiao Zhongqing, a minor official in the magistrate's office in Lujiang, was driven back to her mother's house by Jiao's mother, who swore that she would never marry again (after she returned to her mother's house). When her mother's family forced her to remarry, she threw herself into the water and died. When Jiao Zhongqing heard of this (Liu Lanzhi's death by throwing herself into the water), he also hanged himself from a tree in the courtyard (of his house). The people at that time mourned them and wrote this poem to recount the incident.

The peacock bird flew in a south-easterly direction, and hovered for a while as it flew up to five miles.

"(I) was able to weave fine white silk at the age of thirteen, learned to cut clothes at fourteen, played konghou at fifteen, and was able to recite poetry at sixteen. I became your wife at seventeen, and often felt pain and sorrow in my heart. Now that you have become a minor official of the Imperial Household, you abide by the rules of the government and concentrate on your duties. I stayed alone in the empty room, and the days we met were really few. I got on the machine to weave silk when the rooster crowed, and I could not rest every night. Three days to weave five silk, mother-in-law still deliberately think I weave slow. It was not because I was slow, but because it was hard to be your daughter-in-law! Since I can't take care of your family, there's no point in keeping me around for nothing. (You) can go now and tell my mother-in-law to send me back to my mother's house before it is too late."

After Jiao Zhongqing heard this, he went to the hall and told his mother, "I no longer have the destiny to be a high-ranking official or to enjoy a great fortune, but fortunately I was able to marry this (wise and capable) wife, and after we got married, (the teenage couple) lived lovingly with each other and (agreed) to be companions in the ground even after we died. (We) have been together for less than two or three years, and (life) has only begun, which is not very long, and there is nothing improper in this woman's behavior, so where was it expected that she would displease her mother?"

Jiao's mother said to Zhongqing, "(You) are so uneducated! This woman has no sense of propriety, and her every move is entirely at her own discretion. I have been holding my breath for a long time, how can you make up your own mind! There is a wise woman in the neighborhood, her name is Qin Luoshi, (her) looks are lovely, there is no one to compare with her, and my mother is going to ask for her hand in marriage for you. (You) then quickly repudiate Liu Lanzhi and send her away, never retain (her)!"

Jiao Zhongqing straightened his back and knelt down to report, "My son respectfully sends a report to mother, now if I repudiate this woman, I will never take another wife in my life!"

Jiao's mother, hearing her son's words, (with her fist) knocked on the seat and lost her temper (scolded): "You're not afraid of anything, how dare you speak for your daughter-in-law! I have no more favors for her, of course I can't agree to your (request)."

Jiao Zhongqing silently dared not make a sound, to the mother to pay two obeisance, back to his own room, opened his mouth to speak to his wife, but drawled and swallowed words can not say sentence: "Originally, I do not want to drive you away, but there is a mother to force. You can only go back to your mother's home for the time being. I now temporarily go back to the governor's office to do business, soon I will definitely come back, come back to welcome you back to my home. For this reason, you will suffer a little, and never go against my words."

Liu Lanzhi said to Jiao Zhongqing, "Do not add to the trouble! I remember that in the late winter of that year, I resigned from my mother's family and married into your house, always obeying my mother-in-law's wishes when I served, and where would I dare to take matters into my own hands in every move? I operated diligently day and night, and I suffered hard work and torture alone, always thinking that I had no faults, serving my mother-in-law all my life. (After all, I was driven away, so how can I talk about coming back to your house again? I have an embroidered waistcoat with beautiful embroidery that shines brightly, a double-layered doily made of red gauze with incense bags hanging from the corners, and sixty or seventy suitcases for my clothes, all of which are tied with turquoise silk ropes. All kinds of things are not the same, all kinds of utensils are in that box curtain. I am a lowly man, and my things are not worth much, and I am not worthy to take them to your future wife, but keep them as a souvenir of my gift (to you), for I shall never see you again. Take these things as a consolation from time to time, and (I hope you) will never forget me."

The rooster crowed, and it was about to dawn outside, when Liu Lanzhi got up and dressed neatly. Putting on my embroidered clip-on skirt, she changed each piece of clothing several times. Feet wearing silk shoes, head wearing (inserted) sparkling jewelry, waist girded with white silk, luster like water waves flow, ears wearing earrings made of bright moon beads, fingers slender and white like sharpened onion roots, lips rosy, like containing red gemstones, stepping lightly on the fine steps, delicate and beautiful, really there is no second in the world.

Liu Lanzhi went up to the hall to pay her respects to her mother-in-law, who kept fuming. (Lanzhi said:) "In the past, when I was a daughter, I was born and grew up in the countryside, so I was not well educated, and I am even more ashamed to be married to your young master. I have received much money and gifts from my mother-in-law, but I cannot bear her call. I will go back to my mother's home today, just remembering my mother-in-law's hard work at home." Turning back to say goodbye to her little aunt again, tears fell like a series of beads. (Liu Lanzhi said to her little aunt:) "When I first came to your house, you were just able to hold up the bed and learn to walk; today I have been driven away, and you have grown as tall as I am. I hope you will endeavor to serve your mother with all your heart, and serve her old man well, and in the seventh and nineteenth days of the year, do not forget me when you are at play." (Lanzhi finished) went out and boarded the car and left, tears kept falling.

Jiao Zhongqing's horse walked in front, Liu Lanzhi's car line in the back, the car made a faint sound, together at the intersection, Jiao Zhongqing dismounted and sat in Liu Lanzhi's car, the two men lowered their heads to each other close to the ear to speak in a low voice. (Jiao Zhongqing said): "I swear not to break off relations with you, you temporarily go back to your mother's home, I am now temporarily go to Lujiang Taishoufu (errand), soon will certainly return, I swear to heaven, will never apologize to you."

Liu Lanzhi said to Jiao Zhongqing, "Thank you for your loyal and loving wish! Since you remember me in this way and look forward to your coming to fetch me soon, you must become a rock, and I must become a cattail and a reed. The cattail and the reed are soft and strong as silk; the rock is not easily shifted. I have a brother by blood, whose temperament and behavior are stormy, and I am afraid he will not listen to my wishes, and the thought of the future is like torment to my heart." Then he raised his hand in farewell, with more than a little despondency, and the same fondness for both.

Lanzhi walked into the door of the house, came to the inner hall, up and back feel no face. Liu's mother (who saw Lanzhi's return) was greatly surprised, clapping her hands and saying, "I didn't expect you to come back on your own! At the age of thirteen, I taught you to spin and weave; at fourteen, I could cut clothes; at fifteen, I could play konghou; at sixteen, I knew how to be courteous; at seventeen, I sent you to be married, and I always thought that you would not have any faults. What faults do you have now that you have come back on your own without anyone to greet you!" Lanzhi was ashamed and said to her mother, "My daughter really has no fault." The mother was very sad to hear this.

(Lanzhi) had been home for only ten days when the magistrate sent a matchmaker to her door. (The matchmaker) said that the magistrate's family had a third son, who was beautiful and elegant, unrivaled in the world, only eighteen or nineteen years old, very eloquent, and very capable.

Mother Liu said to her daughter, "You may go and say yes to him." With tears in her eyes, her daughter replied, "When Lanzhi only came back, Jiao Zhongqing repeatedly instructed me to make a vow never to part. Today it is against love and justice, and I am afraid that it is not proper to do so in this matter. Then you can rebuff the people who come to matchmaking, and (later) speak about this matter slowly."

Liu's mother told the matchmaker, "(We are) a poor family with this daughter, who was repudiated back to her mother's house soon after she was married. (She) can't be the wife of a government official, so how can she be worthy of the county governor's son? I hope you will make inquiries (and visit another woman), and I cannot just grant you a favor."

A few days after the magistrate's matchmaker left, the governor soon sent the county minister to propose marriage. The county minister said that your family had a girl named Lanzhi who came from a family of eunuchs. He said that the Taishou's family had a fifth son, who was delicate and handsome, and had not yet married, and asked the county minister to go and act as a matchmaker, which was the word conveyed down by the chief magistrate. The county chancellor said directly to Liu's mother, "Our tai shou's family, having such a good son, since they want to make a marriage with your family, so they sent me to your house to make a match."

Liu's mother thanked the matchmaker and said, "My daughter has previously made a vow, how dare I, old woman, speak (to her) about this matter of remarriage?"

Lanzhi's brother, hearing that the governor's proposal had been rejected, was troubled and said to his sister, "Why don't you think it over when you make such a plan? The difference between good and bad luck is like the difference between heaven and earth, (good luck) is enough to make you honorable and rich for life, if you don't marry this kind and righteous man, what are you going to do in the future?"

Lanzhi looked up and replied, "The reasoning is indeed like what my brother said, I resigned from my mother's house to serve my husband, and returned to my brother's house halfway. How to deal with it is entirely at my brother's whim, how dare I just make up my own mind? Although I made a vow with the official, I will never have the chance to meet him. Immediately, I will agree to this marriage with the Taishou, and I will be able to form a marriage."

The matchmaker of the Taishou got up from his seat and said in a loud voice, "Yes, yes, let it be so, let it be so." He returned to the county residence and reported to the Taishou, "I accepted the mission you gave me and went to Liu's house to make a match; the prince was very much in love and the matchmaking was a success." Hearing these words, the Taishou was very happy in his heart, and (immediately) checking the marriage calendar, and looking through the marriage book, he told the county minister, "It will be very auspicious to set the date of marriage within this month, and the year, month, and day of the year's stems and branches are all suitable for each other, and the good day will be on the 30th of the month, and today it is already the 27th of the month, so you should hurry up and go to Liu's family to set a date for the marriage." Everyone in the Taishou's residence passed the word to each other, "Hurry up and organize the wedding!" (People rushing to organize the wedding) came and went like floating clouds in the sky connecting on and off. The ships carrying the wedding goods were painted with green sparrows and white swans, and flags embroidered with dragons hung from the corners, gently fluttering in the wind. The gold-colored car with white jade wheels and the buckskin horse walking at a slow pace had a saddle with colored tassels hanging around and gold ornaments engraved underneath. The bride-price was three million dollars, all dressed in green silk thread, and there were three hundred pieces of various colors of silk and satin, as well as delicacies of the sea and mountains procured from Guangzhou in Jiaoshu. There were four or five hundred servants, and they came hotly to the door of the Lujiang county government.

A mother said to her daughter: "Just now I received a letter from the governor to come to meet you tomorrow, why don't you make clothes yet? Don't let the wedding be done in an unseemly manner!"

Lanzhi was silent, covered her mouth with a hand towel and wept, her tears dripping down like water pouring out. Moving the glazed couch I was sitting on, moving it out and placing it under the front window. Took scissors and ruler in my left hand and damask in my right hand (and made clothes with my hands). In the morning, I made an embroidered skirt and in the evening, I made a single robe. When it was almost dark in the gloomy sky, Lanzhi, full of Sydney's thoughts, went out of the door and wept bitterly.

Jiao Zhongqing heard this change, so he took leave to come back temporarily, to Lanzhi's home is still two or three miles away, people sad, the horse also wailed. Lanzhi, familiar with the barking of the horse of the government official, ran to meet him at a light and fast pace, and looked on in sadness and disillusionment, knowing that the (beloved) man had come. She raised her hand and stroked the saddle of her horse, and with a long, mournful sigh broke her heart. She said, "Since you left me, the changes in human affairs have been unexpected! I have my own mother, forced me and my own brother, hard to betroth me to someone else, you come back to have what to count on!"

Jiao Zhongqing said to Lanzhi, "Congratulations on your promotion! This rock of mine is square and solid, and can be kept for thousands of years, while the bushy reed is momentarily pliable, and can only be kept for a matter of time between morning and evening. You will grow richer and richer day by day, and I will walk alone to hell!"

Lanzhi said to Jiao Zhongqing, "Where did I expect (that) you would say such things? We are both forced, you are like this and I am like this, (let us) meet each other under the hell! (I hope) not to break today's oath!" (They) clasped each other's hands tightly, then bid farewell and departed, each to his own home. How can we say enough about the indignation of those who are alive and are bidding farewell to those who are about to die? And when they think that (they) are going to depart from this world for ever, they will not be able to preserve (their lives) by any means!

Jiao Zhongqing returned home and went up to his mother in the hall, saying, "Today the wind is strong and very cold, and the cold wind has broken the trees, and the orchids in the yard are covered with thick frost. My son is now like the sun that is about to set, making my mother very lonely in the future. (It is my intention to make such bad plans, so don't blame any ghosts or gods! May your life span be as long as the stones of the southern mountains, and may your body be healthy and comfortable forever!"

Hearing these words, Jiao's mother, with tears streaming down her face along with her son's voice, said, "You are the son of a great family, and you are an official in a great officialdom, do not seek death for (a) woman, (you and she) are different in nobility and inferiority, and where is the love of a woman that is considered to be weak (when you repudiated her)? There is a virtuous woman in the east neighborhood, whose beauty is famous in and out of the city; I will ask for her on your behalf, and sooner or later there will be an answer."

Jiao Zhongqing paid two obeisances to his mother and returned to his room, where he sighed long and loud in his empty room, and his intention to commit suicide was decided. (He) turned his head toward the inner room where Lanzhi had lived, (witnessing) and was increasingly driven by the torment of grief.

(Lanzhi) On the day of her wedding, when the oxen were mooing and the horses were neighing, Liu Lanzhi went into the green cloth tent where the wedding was to take place, and in the silence after the dark dusk, people began to rest. (Lanzhi said to herself): "My life is over today, my soul is leaving, let this body stay on earth for a long time." (So) pulling up her skirt and taking off her silk shoes, she plunged into the pool of clear water.

When Jiao Zhongqing heard that Liu Lanzhi had committed suicide by throwing herself into the water, he knew in his heart that he had parted with Liu Lanzhi forever, and after wandering for a while under the trees in the courtyard, he hanged himself from the branch of a tree facing southeast.

The Jiao and Liu families asked to be buried together, so they buried the two together beside Mount Hua. (On the east and west sides (of the grave) were planted pines and cypresses, and on the right and left sides (of the grave) were planted sycamores, and (of these trees) strips of branches covered each other, and pieces of leaves were connected with each other. There was a pair of birds in the trees, whose name was Mandarin Ducks, and they called to each other with uplifted heads, and every night they called until the fifth hour. Those who walked stopped to listen; the widow heard them, and rose from her bed, and her heart was troubled. I would like to advise future generations to take this incident as a lesson and never forget it!

Synopsis of "Southeast Flight of the Peacock"

The story takes place at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, during the Jian'an period.

Liu Lanzhi, a young girl, has been practicing traditional Chinese painting since she was a child, and is good at playing the zither and reciting poetry. At the age of seventeen, she married Jiao Zhongqing, who worked hard day and night on household chores, but was not tolerated by her mother-in-law, so she sent a letter to her husband, who was working as a minor official in the county government of Lujiang, complaining of the unbearable suffering. Zhongqing came back to plead for his wife, but he was reprimanded by his mother, who ordered him to repudiate his wife and marry another. Zhongqing knelt down and said, "If I send this woman away now, I will never marry again." His mother was furious. As he still had to return to his post, he had to ask his wife to go back to her mother's house for a while. Lanzhi naturally understood that such a goodbye was like a repudiation, and that it would be difficult to see her again in the future, so she left her usual scented pouch and trousseau to Zhongqing as a souvenir.

After the rooster crowed, Lanzhi went up to the hall to say goodbye to her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and boarded the train in tears. At this time, Zhongqing was already waiting by the avenue, and the couple saw each other. The two love each other, bowed his head and whispered: "Swear that heaven will not be disappointed."

Liu Lanzhi was sent home for more than ten days, the county magistrate sent a matchmaker to propose marriage for his son, was Lanzhi politely rejected; and a few days, the governor also entrusted the county minister to the door to propose marriage, expressly stated that the governor's fifth son has not yet been married, and would like to be with the Liu family for a hundred years of good, and was rejected. This early annoyed Lanzhi's big brother of the thunderstorm temperament. The brother's order is difficult to disobey, Lanzhi was forced to do nothing but to let everything be arranged. The matchmaker reported that the Liu family had agreed to the marriage. It so happened that three days later would be the auspicious day, and the governor immediately sent people around to prepare the gold, silk, gifts, horses and boats, so that the marriage could be completed as soon as possible. The first day of the wedding was the first day of the month, and the second day of the month was the first day of the month of the year, and the third day of the year was the first day of the year.

The next day, Lanzhi was silent the whole day, just and tears tailoring. Suddenly, she heard the familiar sound of a horse neighing, and went out to look at it from a distance, knowing that it was the old man who had come. The first time I saw him, I was so happy to see him, and he was so happy to see me. Zhongqing mentioned the oath he made that day, and the two of them had to promise to "meet each other in the Yellow Springs". They went home. When he returned home, he said to his mother: "Today the wind has broken the trees, and the orchids in the yard are covered with frost; my life is like the setting sun on the western mountains, so I'll be alone in the future and take care of myself", and then he bowed again and sighed long and hard and went away.

On this day, the carriage and horses welcoming the bride were extraordinarily busy, and the bride had already entered the door. The crowd gradually dispersed after dusk, the night was deep and silent, Lanzhi took her skirt and threw herself into the water. Zhongqing learned, wandering under the tree, also hanged himself to martyrdom. The two of them were buried together next to Mount Hua.

South-East Flight of the Peacock:

South-East Flight of the Peacock is the first full-length narrative poem in the history of Chinese literature, and it is also the peak work in the history of the development of the Lefu poetry, and the later people called it and the Mulan Poem of the Northern Dynasties as the "Lefu Twins".

"Southeast Flight of the Peacock" is based on a marriage tragedy that occurred in Lujiang County during the reign of Emperor Xian of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Originally titled "An Ancient Poem for Jiao Zhongqing's Wife", it is also known as "Southeast Flight of the Peacock" because the first line of the poem reads "The peacock flies south-east, wandering for five miles". The poem has more than 350 lines and 1700 words. It tells the story of Jiao Zhongqing and Liu Lanzhi, who were forced to separate and commit suicide, accuses the cruelty of feudalism, and praises the sincere feelings and spirit of resistance of Jiao and Liu.

As one of the longest narrative poems in ancient history, "Southeast Flight of the Peacock" is a well-tailored story with vivid characters, which not only portrays Jiao and Liu as a couple who are united in heartfelt love and chastity, but also portrays Jiao's mother's obstinacy and Liu's brashness to a tee. At the end of the piece, the myth of Liu Lanzhi and Jiao Zhongqing being transformed into peacocks after their deaths was conceived, which sent the people's strong desire to pursue the freedom of love and a happy life.
