What is hyperconvergence

Hyper-converged is an information infrastructure that integrates virtualized computing resources and storage devices.

Hyper Converged Infrastructure, or "HCI" for short, refers to the integration of not only compute, network, storage, and server virtualization resources and technologies in the same unit device, but also elements such as backup software, snapshot technology, deduplication, and online data compression. Backup software, snapshot technology, deduplication, online data compression and other elements, and multiple sets of unit equipment can be aggregated through the network to achieve seamless modular horizontal expansion (scale-out), forming a unified resource pool.

Hyper-convergence (or even hyper-convergence) is easy to achieve locally: compute, network, and storage are all integrated into a single appliance that is pre-configured by the vendor and ready to go. HCI is the ultimate technology pathway to a software-defined data center (SDDC). HCI is a large-scale infrastructure model, similar to the backend of Google and Facebook, that delivers optimal efficiency, flexibility, scale, cost and data protection to the data center.

Advantages of Hyperconvergence

1, make the system more flexible

With the advent of the cloud computing and big data era, enterprises need IT systems to be able to quickly keep up with business needs. Hyperconvergence allows for more flexible system expansion. Customers only need to buy the same configuration according to the demand, and can quickly realize the expansion of the IT system.

2. Simpler deployment

Hyper-convergence lies in the convergence of servers, storage, and networks, and because of the out-of-the-box deployment approach, it greatly simplifies the planning, connectivity, configuration, and other complex management operations. Like Legos, only the same modules are needed to build a variety of models based on customer needs. Lego blocks are equivalent to hyper-convergence, and the model built is the data center. Delivery time can be shortened from the past ten days to one or two days, greatly reducing the delivery time.
