Smuggling into Myanmar violates the law and will be sanctioned by the law.

According to the provisions of the Criminal Law, if it is the perpetrator himself who sneaks across the state border or border, and the circumstances are serious, the perpetrator of the smuggling is generally sentenced to less than one year's fixed-term imprisonment, detention, or control, and punished with a fine. However, if the perpetrator steals across the State border or frontier for the purpose of joining a terrorist organization, receiving training in terrorist activities, or committing terrorist activities, the sentence is stricter. The perpetrator is sentenced to imprisonment of one to three years and fined. In addition, the sentencing is different if the person is transporting others to smuggle them across the state or border. If the circumstances of the suspected smuggling crime are serious, the offender shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than one year, detention or control, and fined; if the offender smuggles another person across the state (border) for the purpose of participating in a terrorist organization, receiving training in terrorist activities, or committing terrorist activities, he/she shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than one year and not more than three years and fined; in general, the offender shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years, detention or control, and fined. In the case of repeated transportation or transportation of stowaways, the penalty may be imprisonment of not less than five years and not more than ten years.

Article 321 Crime of Transporting Others to Steal Across the Country (Border) A person who transports another person to sneak across the country (border) shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years, detention or control, and shall be punished by a fine; a person who does any of the following shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five and not more than 10 years, and shall be punished by a fine:

(1) ) The act of transportation is committed several times or the number of persons transported is large;

(ii) The vessel, vehicle or other means of transportation used does not have the necessary safety conditions, which is sufficient to cause serious consequences;

(iii) The amount of illegal proceeds is huge;

(iv) There are other particularly serious circumstances.

Whoever causes serious injury or death to the person being transported in transporting another person across the state (border) border, or resists the inspection by means of violence or threat, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than seven years and fined.

If a person who commits the crimes of the preceding two paragraphs commits the crimes of killing, injuring, raping or abducting the transported person, or commits the crimes of killing or injuring the inspector, he shall be punished in accordance with the provisions on the combination of the crimes

Article 322: Crimes of Stealing Across the State (Border) Boundary Violating the laws and regulations on the management of the state (border) boundaries by sneaking across the state (border) boundaries under aggravating circumstances, he shall be sentenced to not more than one year's fixed-term imprisonment, detention or control, and shall be punished with a fine. Control and a fine; if a person sneaks across a state (border) border for the purpose of participating in a terrorist organization, receiving training in terrorist activities or committing terrorist activities, he or she shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than one year and not more than three years, and a fine shall also be imposed.
