Are there more Zhuang or Han people in Guangxi?
Both nationally and in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Han population is still larger than the Zhuang population. Because according to the information, although the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is an autonomous region of ethnic minorities with the Zhuang as the main group, it is also the province (region) with the largest population of ethnic minorities in the country. There are 12 hereditary ethnic groups living in the region, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulao, Maonan, Hui, Jing, Yi, Shui, Gelao, etc. Among them, Guangxi is the region with the largest population of Yao in the country, with more than 1.5 million people, which accounts for about 60% of the total Yao population in the whole country; it is the region with the largest population of Mulao in the country, with more than 170,000 people, which accounts for 90% of the population of Mulao in the whole country; and the Maonan Autonomous County of Huanjiang is the only Maonan Autonomous County and the largest Maonan settlement in China, with more than 70,000 people; Guangxi is the only place where the Jing ethnic group lives in China, with a population of 21,500 people, making it one of the richest ethnic minorities in China. All of the other 44 ethnic minorities live in the region. However, at the end of 2007, the population of the region was divided by ethnicity, with the Han population of 30.27 million people, accounting for 61.46% of the region; the population of various ethnic minorities was 18.98 million people, accounting for 38.54% of the region, of which the Zhuang population was 16.05 million people, accounting for 84.57% of the population of the ethnic minorities, and accounting for 32.60% of the total population.
