The emblem of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is in the shape of a circle, the main body of which is the map of the six member states of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the olive branch and two ribbons encircling the left and right sides of the emblem, which symbolizes the active role of the member states in promoting regional and world peace and development, and also implies that the SCO has a wide range of areas of cooperation and great prospects for development. In the upper and lower parts of the emblem, the words "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" are written in Chinese and Russian respectively. The green and blue colors of the emblem symbolize the organization's purposes of peace, friendship, progress and development.
