Tibetan language, belongs to the Tibetan branch of the Tibeto-Burman language family of the Sino-Tibetan language family. It is spoken in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China and five regions of Qinghai, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, as well as Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu and Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. Tibetan is also spoken in four countries: Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bhutan. The Tibetan language is mainly divided into three major dialects: the Weizang dialect (i.e. Lhasa dialect), the Kang dialect (Dege dialect, Chando dialect), and the Amdo dialect.
