Hunan Police College has the following seven departments:

Department of Investigation: the Department of Investigation is a teaching department established in 2010, and its predecessor was the Department of Investigation of Hunan Public Security Higher Specialized School in 1991. The department consists of six teaching and research rooms and a student brigade, mainly responsible for the theoretical and practical training teaching of the three undergraduate majors of investigation, narcotics and economic crime investigation. The department has 43 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 19 associate professors, 11 lecturers and 2 assistant professors. The department has first-class level and achievements in video investigation, sky net blindness, curriculum construction and other aspects.

Department of Law and Order: The Department of Law and Order is a teaching department founded in 1984, its predecessor is the Hunan Provincial Public Security Cadre School of Law and Order Management Teaching and Research Department. The department consists of four teaching and research rooms, mainly responsible for the theoretical and practical training teaching of the undergraduate program of public security. The department has 19 full-time teachers, including 5 professors, 5 associate professors, 7 lecturers and 1 assistant professor. The department has distinctive professional characteristics and advantages in security prevention and control, emergency policing and other aspects.

Department of Criminal Technology: The Department of Criminal Science and Technology is a teaching department established in 1999, whose predecessor was the Criminal Science and Technology Program of Hunan Public Security Higher Specialized School. The department consists of three teaching and research rooms, mainly responsible for the theory and practical training teaching of criminal science and technology undergraduate program. The department has 23 full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 6 associate professors, 11 lecturers and 3 assistant professors. The department has strong professional advantages and characteristics in fingerprint identification, video image investigation, cybercrime investigation and other aspects.

Department of Traffic Management: The Department of Traffic Management is a teaching department established in 2010, and its predecessor is the traffic management specialty of Hunan Public Security Higher Specialized School. The department consists of two teaching and research departments, mainly responsible for the theoretical and practical training teaching of undergraduate traffic management engineering. The department has 18 full-time teachers, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 9 lecturers and 2 assistant professors. The department has strong professional advantages and characteristics in road traffic accident investigation, traffic management information system, traffic safety and legal system.

Department of Law: The Department of Law is a teaching department established in 1999, and its predecessor is the Law Department of Hunan Public Security Higher Specialized School. The department consists of four teaching and research departments of criminal law, procedural law, jurisprudence, civil law and economic law, which are mainly responsible for the theoretical and practical training teaching of undergraduate law majors. The department has 29 full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 8 associate professors, 13 lecturers and 5 assistant professors. The department has strong professional advantages and characteristics in civil and commercial jurisprudence, criminal jurisprudence and litigation jurisprudence.

Department of Public **** Management: The Department of Public **** Management is a teaching department established in 2011, which was formerly known as the Department of Public **** Management of Hunan Public Security Higher Specialized School. The department consists of the Administrative Management Teaching and Research Office, the Applied Psychology Teaching and Research Office, and the Information Security Teaching and Research Office, and is mainly responsible for the theoretical and practical training teaching of the undergraduate majors of Administrative Management, Applied Psychology, Information Security, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Computer Science and Technology. The department has 28 full-time faculty members, including 2 professors, 7 associate professors, 15 lecturers and 4 teaching assistants. The department has strong professional advantages and characteristics in psychological counseling and therapy, network security and law enforcement, and big data analysis and application.

Department of Computer Science and Technology: Computer Science and Technology is a general undergraduate program affiliated with the School of Information Security and Big Data. The program aims to cultivate highly qualified and compound talents with innovative spirit and practical ability in research and development, design and management in computer-related fields. The major courses of the major include advanced mathematics, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, probability theory and mathematical statistics, data structure, algorithm design and analysis, programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, principles of operating system, principles of computer composition, computer networks, database principles and applications, software engineering and so on. Graduates of the program can be engaged in the design and implementation of computer hardware and software systems and computer application systems and management and maintenance.

Each department has different undergraduate majors and specialized majors, you can choose a suitable study direction according to your own interests and goals.
