According to Article 26 of the Regulations on Housing Provident Fund Management, employees who have paid housing provident fund can apply for housing provident fund loans from the housing provident fund management center when purchasing their own houses.

Time limit for approval of individual housing provident fund loans: The Guiding Opinions on Several Issues Concerning Housing Provident Fund Management (J.F.F. [2005] No.5) issued by the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance and the People's Bank of China stipulates that employees should complete the loan procedures within 15 working days after submitting documents and materials as required. That is, when the employee loan application materials are complete, the review time limit shall not exceed 15 working days, but it does not include the time for handling formalities in banks, trading departments and developers.
