The process of obtaining a death certificate:

3. If a citizen dies in a temporary residence, the household registration organ of the temporary residence shall, according to the declaration of the head of the household, hotel manager or other indoor personnel of the temporary residence of the deceased, promptly notify the household registration organ of the deceased's permanent residence of his name, time and reason, and the household registration organ of the deceased's permanent residence shall handle the death registration and cancel the account. The permanent residence registration organ shall also register the death according to the declaration of the family members of the deceased.
