Regulations and standards for installation of speed bumps
The installation regulations and standards of speed bumps are as follows:

1, the setting of speed bumps should be designed according to the road alignment.

The setting of speed bumps should be comprehensively considered from traffic safety issues, traffic capacity and other factors to avoid randomness and over-density. In general, speed bumps should be set at road crossings, industrial and mining enterprises, schools, residential quarters and other sections where vehicles need to slow down and traffic accidents are likely to occur, such as bends, downhill roads and intersections. It is not suitable to install speed bumps on national highways and expressways.

2. The setting of speed bumps shall comply with the current traffic laws.

China's current "road traffic signs and markings" GB5768- 1999 has clear provisions on deceleration markings, but there is no special title and specification for other forms of deceleration strips. Therefore, it is suggested to refer to foreign experience in setting and application, or to be implemented after joint demonstration by the traffic police department, the road department and the road design unit.

3. The material of the speed bump should have pressure resistance.

There are two kinds of materials commonly used for speed bumps: rubber and cast steel. The rubber speed bump has the characteristics of shock absorption, excellent compression resistance, long service life, less wear on the car, less noise, yellow and black, distinct colors, no need to repaint every year, beautiful and generous. The speed bump made of cast steel has the characteristics of strong wear resistance, large bearing gravity, no deformation, and its service life is 5-10 times that of rubber speed bump.

4. The size of the speed bump should be determined according to the vehicle type.

The width and height of speed bumps should be in the range of 300mm~400mm and 25mm~70mm, and the ratio of height to width of speed bumps used on highways and urban roads should not be greater than 0.7. In addition, the connection mode and gap between speed bump units should be considered to ensure its integrity and transmission accuracy.

5, the installation of the speed bump should be in a straight line.

Before the speed bump is installed, clean up the ground debris and mark it. When installing, measure according to the length measurement table provided by the product supplier and operate according to the product manual. After installation, check whether there is looseness or missing installation, and make records. If connected to the ground by bolts, the bolt holes shall be countersunk.
