Song of the Songhua River Boat: Eternal Cultural Charm

History creates culture, and culture inherits history. The art of poetry and calligraphy is a special carrier of inheriting history and culture. For many years, "Song of Sailing on the Songhua River" has been highly praised by literati and calligraphers, resulting in countless masterpieces. At the end of last year, when I visited Taiwan Province Province with the Jilin Cultural Exchange Group, I showed a photo of Song on the Songhua River, which caused quite a stir and was reported by the local media accordingly. Then, why does a poem written by Emperor Kangxi still have lasting cultural charm after 329 years? Think twice, no doubt, because it has far-reaching historical origins, profound historical complex, unique artistic characteristics, strong patriotic feelings and extensive cultural communication value.

Deep historical origin

Any art is produced under the scouring of the river of time. Song of boating in Songhua River came into being when the country was facing serious internal and external troubles. Kangxi was a visionary emperor in the history of China. He succeeded to the throne at the age of 8 and came to power at the age of 14. After years of repression, he finally created a relatively stable political situation and began to operate the Northeast in an all-round way. At that time, as a very young emperor, he must be passionate. After Annie, he began to make noise again. The foreign invasion at that time was Russia. 1682 Russian troops entrenched in jaxa flagrantly provoked our country and created a bloody incident of brutally killing our border people. It is under such a complicated historical background that in the same year, Kangxi went to Jilin to deploy an anti-aggression war on the grounds of "asking about folk customs".

At that time, Jilin was a military town, a shipbuilding base and a naval battalion, and it was a hub for transportation to the northern front through waterways. Therefore, Kangxi's eastward tour here has special political significance. Kangxi was a statesman and strategist with strategic vision. Although he wrote in his poem, "I'm here to ask the vulgar, not to watch the soldiers", it's actually just a strategy.

Kangxi, who traveled long distances, rested in Jilin for two days and led more than 200 ships and many nobles down the river to Wuqi. Ships on the river are connected together, sails are like forests, flags are flying, and layers of dense forests are magnificent. Seeing this scene, Kangxi was very excited. In fact, it was a military review of a naval battalion. In this situation, Kangxi's poetry flourished and he wrote the well-known Song of Boating in Songhua River, which was naturally smooth and beautiful. It can be said that this poem expressed the strong patriotism of Emperor Kangxi at that time.

Protecting the environment and people's feelings and ideals also reflected the public opinion of the broad masses of people in China at that time to defend the country and create a happy and peaceful life.

A distinctive epic poem

Words are based on lines, and lines are spread by words. The spread of any culture depends on a certain carrier. Poetry and songs, calligraphy and painting, and inkstone are all its carriers. And this poem of Kangxi's Journey to the East has been passed down to this day through the mighty historical romance:

Songhua river, the river is clear, it rains at night, and the waves are bright.

……

Clouds shine on He Jingjing? I was shocked by the current going straight down to Longtan, and even the boat sat in Tunjiang City. Brave and healthy Bi Ruijing,

……

Vast, choppy, clouds in Wan Li.

This poem was written on the Songhua River in the late spring and early summer of the 21st year of Kangxi (1682), when Michelle Ye, the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, visited Jilin. At that time, the 29-year-old young emperor personally inspected the frontier, inspected the navy and ships in the stormy waves of the Songhua River, inspired the northeast military and civilians to fight back against the Russian aggressors, and improvised poems reflecting the beautiful rivers and mountains along the Songhua River in Jilin and the northern scenery. This poem, full of passion and twists and turns, swept away the hypocrisy of falling with the wind and moaning without illness; Its language is popular and frank, and it has won the beauty of flowing clouds, which is incomparable to the pretentious, flashy and lifeless language in many emperor poems.

There are fifteen sentences in Song of Sailing in Songhua River, each of which is a paragraph, which can be divided into five natural paragraphs. The whole poem has no lively arrangement, but simply reproduces the spring scenery of Songhua River and Hua Mao, which were full of fighting breath 300 years ago.

The first paragraph explains the time, season and place. The clear river waves are rolling, and the scenery along the river in the north is like brocade woven by colorful scrolls, which is dazzling and deeply touched the feelings of the emperor.

The second paragraph first describes the river in the painting; Then, compare the sound of the waves to the joy of Xiao Shao, full of passion; Then, I flew my eyes from the river to the river bank, and I directed my poetry to the lofty ambition of defending the rivers and mountains.

The third paragraph describes the determination to defeat the powerful enemy and implicitly calls Russia a floating cloud. The emperor looked down at Taotao River, looked at the lush green hills on both sides of the river, looked up at the sky reflected by the morning glow, and asked himself with great optimism: how can a few floating clouds from the north hide the brilliance of the sun?

The fourth paragraph is the climax of the whole poem, which shows our army's perseverance and determination, and the athletes are ready to die at any time, and declares their determination to fight the invading enemy to the end and win the battle.

The last paragraph is the echo of the first paragraph and the end of the whole poem. Once again, through the description of the magnificent natural scenery of Songhua River, I expressed my praise and expectation for a powerful and unified multi-ethnic country.

Throughout the poem, the first three sentences are bold and unrestrained, and the second to fourth paragraphs depict storks, Xiao Shao, Cangyan, Qingbi, floating clouds, scorching sun, battleships, Jianjia, Jing Xi and Zhu Ying ... all of them are drawn in rough strokes from the front, smooth and smooth, and there are no traces of hard patchwork. At the end of the sentence, a simple folk song sentence like "Songhua River, the river is clear" has a loud syllable, giving people a feeling of singing three sighs and lingering. Although this poem may be delicate in art, it is a bit shallow in form; However, the true feelings and strong emotions come from the true feelings of life, just like the flowers in the pen, which gush out naturally and flow in one go. It is a hymn to the magnificent rivers and mountains of Songhua River 300 years ago, and shows us a vivid, true and unique historical picture. Then it actually formed a trend and cultural phenomenon.

Brilliant calligraphy art

In Jilin, there is a special cultural phenomenon. No matter famous calligraphers or calligraphy lovers, most of them have written Kangxi's poem Song of Songhua River. Walking in various important public places in Jilin City, you can often see the calligraphy works of Song of the Songhua River Boat made by various techniques. It is commendable that this poem and its calligraphy works have played an important role in the process of winning the honorary titles of "China's Famous Historical and Cultural City", "China's Excellent Tourist City", "China's Charming City", "China's Building a Civilized City and an Advanced City", "America is the most worth introducing to the world in China" and "Top Ten Most Beautiful Cities in China in 2009". This is one of the reasons why Jiangcheng people like this poem.

This poem is popular for many reasons. On the one hand, it is the artistic charm and historical value of poetry itself; On the one hand, there is a strong patriotic and homesick complex contained in the poem; On the other hand, it is also inseparable from the efforts and promotion of calligraphers with unique eyes. Mr. Jin Yian, a famous calligrapher and descendant of the royal family in Qing Dynasty, once wrote Song of Boating in Songhua River, which was engraved on the giant marble inlaid in the main hall of Xiguan Hotel, making people feel refreshed. During her visit to China, Ms. Chen Xiangmei, an American Chinese, was attracted by the magnificent and incisive works of art and sincerely asked the leaders of Jilin City for a painting by Jin Lao. When Jin Lao, who was already in his prime at that time, heard about it, regardless of his age, he tried his best to complete this masterpiece in one go. In 2009, Mr. Liu Naizhong, a famous calligrapher, wrote two works to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 60th anniversary of the founding of China People's Political Consultative Conference, one of which was Song of Sailing on the Songhua River. This poem written by the famous calligrapher Mr. Dou Liming hangs in the main hall of a building. The brushwork is free and easy, elegant and smart, and quite bookish. ...

It is the masterpieces of these calligraphers and famous calligraphers that further created and recommended Song of Boating in Songhua River as a hot spot for cultural appreciation and calligraphy and painting collection.

Cultural highlights of historical cities

Jilin is a famous historical and cultural city. In order to promote my hometown, I wrote many songs about boats on the Songhua River. After studying the historical background of this poem, I like it better because it contains rich historical information and artistic connotation. "Take the boat to Tun Jiangcheng" is also the imperial seal of Jilin City, commonly known as "Jiangcheng". This poem is closely related to the ancient city of Jilin, and it can also be said to be a cultural highlight of our historical and cultural city. I look up to and approach history with reverence.

As a famous cultural city, Jilin naturally needs to explore its profound cultural heritage, find its incomparably rich historical and cultural heritage, create its brilliant cultural highlights, and develop and inherit its cultural charm. There are many historical and cultural highlights in Jilin City, such as the Songhua River, which winds through the city. Yushu Qiongzhi, white frost wrapped in silver; Kangxi travels to the east, Jiangcheng sings boat songs, and so on are the cultural highlights of our city. Song of boating in Songhua River can be said to be a highlight.

We should treat, study, develop, build and carry forward this charming cultural highlight of this city with a broad mind and a far-sighted vision. This is not only the responsibility of calligraphers, but also the responsibility of painters, writers and all artists who grew up in this hot land.

When writing Song of Sailing on the Songhua River, I always want to be calm, think of the Millennium and look forward to the eight years of famine. I want to walk into the tunnel of history, feel the eternal dust, take a fugue trip and purify my soul. Then, I can use my favorite artistic pen to describe, shape and sprout the eternal swan song in my heart-Song of Songhua River.

Let more people sublimate our artistic taste in the full calligraphy art and elegant aesthetic pleasure, and at the same time sublimate the cultural taste and artistic charm of our city. (Liu Cheng)
