1975, a picture in the No.1 Brief Report on Trial Excavation of Qin Warrior Pit in Lintong County caught Chen Jingyuan's attention. This picture is a part of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, and it is engraved with a strange word: this word is the character of spleen with a spleen next to the word of the month. Although Chen Jingyuan is no stranger to Qin characters, it is the first time to see such strange characters.

In the "Trial Excavation Briefing" written by the Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses Archaeological Team, experts interpreted this word as "spleen". Chen Jingyuan does not agree. He leafed through Jin Wen Bian compiled by Rong Geng and Gu Shu Compilation compiled by Xu Wenjing, and found that the word "Bei" which constitutes the right half of the word "spleen" has many forms of writing. But among many glyphs, none of them matches the word in the maid's pit.

It is this word that leads to Chen Jingyuan's amazing discovery of the owner of the Terracotta Warriors.

1976, Chen Jingyuan ran to Xi' an after learning that the Terracotta Warriors were found in Xi' an. In the office of Xi' an Cultural Management Committee, the responsible person carefully took out a bucket tile of Qin Dynasty and showed it to Chen Jingyuan. This tile is also engraved with a strange word. Chen Jingyuan doesn't know the word on the left, but the word on the right is still easy to recognize. Chen Jingyuan returned to his residence in Nanjing with the developed characters, but in the next two years, he was at a loss in the face of the vast amount of ancient characters.

By chance, Chen Jingyuan met Professor Duan Xizhong, an expert on ancient Chinese characters in Nanjing Normal University, in the library. After careful checking, Professor Duan thinks that the word on the left side of the bucket tile in Qin Dynasty is a variant of "Bi". These should be two single characters, pronounced "Miyue". This dispelled the confusion in Chen Jingyuan's mind for a long time. The word "Mi" is not strange to him. After Qin Xuantai, the grandmother of Qin Shihuang and the princess of Qin Huiwen, her surname was "Mi". Therefore, Chen Jingyuan concluded that the owner of the Terracotta Warriors was not Qin Shihuang, but his grandmother, Empress Qin Xuantai. Yuan Zhongyi, on the other hand, thinks that words can't be split like this. After a word is split, its meaning is very different.
