It is affiliated to the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and under the professional guidance of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education [16]. It is a higher art vocational college registered by the Ministry of Education of China [1]. The predecessor of Shanxi Art Vocational College is Shanxi Art School, which was founded in 195 1, and it is the first art school in Shanxi. Li Qun, a people's artist and printmaker, was the first president. 1958, upgraded to Shanxi Art College (undergraduate), which is the first independent undergraduate art college in Shanxi. After several years of cancellation and merger, 1998, it merged with Shanxi Film School to establish Shanxi Culture and Art School. On September 2, 2000, Kloc-0, with the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government, it was jointly restructured into Shanxi Art Vocational College with Shanxi Workers' College of Literature [2].
