Introduction of Gansu Vocational College of Animal Husbandry Engineering Gansu Vocational College of Animal Husbandry Engineering is the only full-time ordinary higher vocational college in Gansu Province that trains talents in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine and agricultural machinery. It is also a provincial-level demonstration higher vocational college and a high-quality higher vocational college. Its predecessor was the former Gansu Provincial Animal Husbandry School (national key technical secondary school) founded in 1952 and the former Gansu Provincial Agricultural Mechanization School (national key technical secondary school) founded in 1958, which was under the education department of Gansu Province.

The college covers an area of 2,200 mu, including 800 mu of campus and 0/400 mu of practice farm/kloc. The school building covers an area of 200,000 square meters. The fixed assets are more than 300 million yuan, including the total value of teaching instruments and equipment1.200 million yuan. The library has more than 430,000 books, 500,000 electronic books and more than 300 Chinese and foreign periodicals.
The college has a school scale of 6500 people. There are 360 faculty members, including 3 full-time and part-time teachers, 26 professors, 3 associate professors, 90 masters and doctors. The college offers 45 majors in 9 major professional groups, including animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, agricultural machinery, vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic information engineering, food science, grape and wine engineering, economy, trade and humanities.
The college is Gansu Animal Husbandry Engineering Cadre Training College and Gansu Weilong Wine College, with National Professional Skills Appraisal Station-013 Station, Gansu 84th National Professional Skills Appraisal Institute, Gansu Provincial Continuing Education Base for Professional and Technical Personnel, and National Open University (Gansu) Learning Center, etc., and cooperates with Northwest Normal University, Lanzhou University of Technology and Lanzhou.
The College has made great efforts to build a diversified and open school-running pattern, signed the Cooperation Agreement of Industry-University-Research's Deep Integration Strategic Framework with the characteristic towns of Central Asia-China-Russia economic, trade and cultural exchanges, signed the Cooperation and Assistance Agreement of Vocational Education with Tianjin Medical College, carried out in-depth cooperation with Tianjin Sino-German Universities of Applied Sciences on school-school cooperation and foreign exchange, and established in-depth school-enterprise cooperation relations with well-known enterprises such as Xiaoming Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Guanghui Group, Dabeinong Group, Geely Group and Sany Heavy Industry.
