Since the 24th, Gansu has experienced the strongest sandstorm weather process in the past nine years, which is also the third regional sandstorm weather process in Gansu this year. During the day on the 25th, the influence of this dusty weather process continued.
According to the Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory, during the day of the 25th, there were sandstorms in some areas of Gansu, and sandstorms in Minqin, Jingtai and Huanxian. Among them, Minqin County, which was hit by a particularly strong sandstorm with the lowest visibility of zero meters at night on 24th, saw another sandstorm at 1 1 on 25th, with the lowest visibility of only 600 meters; On the afternoon of the 25th, there was also a strong sandstorm in Jingtai County, which is adjacent to the Hexi Corridor, with the lowest visibility of only 300 meters. Almost at the same time, sandstorms also occurred in Huan County, Qingyang City, eastern Gansu Province. Kuang Chao, deputy director of the Huan County Meteorological Bureau, said that the minimum visibility was only 800 meters.
"There are many strong winds and sandstorms in Huan County, but sandstorms are rare. This sandstorm weather is the first sandstorm weather in Huan County this year." Kuang Chao said, "Today, at 13: 49, a strong wind began to blow in the local area. At 15: 52, it turned into a sandstorm a few minutes later, and the sandstorm weather lasted for more than 30 minutes."
The Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory also introduced that the sandstorm weather during the day on the 25th was obviously weakened compared with that on the 24th. On the 24th, sandstorms appeared at 14 stations in Gansu, and six of them were extremely strong sandstorms with minimum visibility less than 50m.
