19931October 29th, the first batch of Taiwanese businessmen who came to Dongguan to explore the territory, with the assistance and support of Dongguan Municipal People's Government and Taiwan Province Affairs Office (now Taiwan Province Affairs Bureau), established Dongguan Taiwanese Investment Enterprise Association.
After 12 years' development, the Association has now entered the seventh session. Its successive presidents are: Mr. Lian Arong, general manager of the first Meihua Knitting Company; Mr. Ye Hongdeng, chairman of the second and third Taiwanese children's schools; Mr. Zhang Hanwen, chairman of the fourth and fifth Fuhua Shoes Industry; Mr. Guo Shanhui, chairman of the sixth and seventh Taisheng Furniture Factory; and Mr. Ye Chunrong, chairman of the eighth Yuefeng Electronics Company.
After 16 years of growth, the association has become a civil society group with perfect organization and complete functions; At present, there are 3468 members, covering 32 towns and districts in Dongguan, forming a service system centered on associations and with 32 branches as outlets; On August 8, 2003, the Association officially passed the ISO900 1(2000)IS version certification, and introduced the international standardized management system, which made the operation of the Association more perfect and became one of the Taiwanese business associations with numerous members and sound functions in China.

The founding purpose of Dongguan Taiwanese Investment Enterprise Association is: unity, communication, service and development. Since May, 2002, leaders at all levels of the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have set up a counterpart contact group between government leaders and Taiwanese businessmen in the spirit of caring about the development of enterprises and improving the investment environment in Dongguan. This non-profit school, founded by Taiwanese members, is also the first school for Taiwanese children in mainland China. The campus covers an area of more than 80,000 square meters, with kindergartens, elementary schools and junior high schools, and a high school was established in August 2002. With the approval of the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, about 228 mu of land has been planned along the Fifth Ring Road in the urban area as the land for hospital construction. The hospital plans to set up a 500-bed comprehensive hospital with a total investment of 1 100 million US dollars, and the investment mode is joint venture.
The Association established a preparatory committee with President Guo Shanhui as the general convener, Executive Vice President Ye Chunrong, Vice President Zhao Jinhe and Vice President Lin Mu and Vice President as the chairman, and the Taiwan Province medical team was Yonghe Zhenxing Medical Team and Weigung Hospital.
