A geographical overview
Lai 'an County is located in the east of Anhui Province, bordering Tianchang City of Anhui Province, Langya District and Nanqiao District of Chuzhou City, mingguang city and Xuyi County of Huai 'an City, Jiangsu Province, Liuhe District and Pukou District of Nanjing City. The county seat (Xin 'an Town) is 60km away from downtown Nanjing, beijing-shanghai railway Chuzhou Station18km, Nanjing Lukou International Airport 80km, and the entrance and exit of Shanghai-Nanjing-Luoyang Expressway 5km. The 104 National Road runs through the whole territory from east to west. Chahe Town, a township under the jurisdiction of the county, is located at the junction of Jiangsu and Anhui, and is adjacent to Nanjing High-tech Development Zone across the river. Lai 'an County is the core layer of Nanjing's "1 hour metropolitan area", an important gateway to Jiangbei and the east gate of Anhui.
