The Institute of Finance and Taxation, formerly the Department of Finance and Taxation, was established in July. 1986. 1989 changed its name to the taxation department because it established the taxation specialty with the then Guangdong Provincial Taxation Bureau. 1998, due to the adjustment of the tax major to the financial major, it was restored to the Finance and Taxation Department. In 2004, the majors of administrative management and public utilities management were added, and the Department of Finance and Taxation was renamed the School of Finance, Taxation and Public Utilities Management. In 2007, the tax major resumed enrollment. In 2004, he began to train graduate students in fiscal and taxation theory and policy direction. In 2006, the major of finance was rated as a famous major in Guangdong Province, and the discipline of finance was authorized by a master's degree, and it was also identified as a key discipline at the university level. In March 2007, it was awarded as a key (supported) discipline in Guangdong Province. In June 2008, according to the needs of discipline development, the School of Finance, Taxation and Public Administration was established by discipline, so it was renamed as the School of Finance and Taxation.
