The custom of sweeping tombs during Qingming Festival has been followed in Yongchun for a long time. Generally, people bring food to the tomb as an offering, remove the tomb grass, scatter paper money on the tomb, and trace the writing on the tombstone in red to commemorate it. Today, schools and other units use the Qingming Festival to visit the tombs of the martyrs and commemorate the martyrs.

During the Qingming Festival, Yongchun people have the custom of eating moist cakes. "Run cake", also called "pancake", was originally a snack in southern Fujian. It was popular in Quanzhou and later spread to Taiwan. People in Quanzhou and southern Fujian have the custom of eating pancakes during the "New Year" and "Qingming Festival". The crust is thin and tender, and the delicious fillings are wrapped in it. It’s tender and sweet! Its characteristics: tender, crispy, sweet, mellow and multi-flavored. It has a unique flavor.

Tug of war was called "drawing hook" and "gouqiang" in the early days. It was called "tug of war" in the Tang Dynasty. It was invented in the late Spring and Autumn Period, became popular among the military, and later spread among the people. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, a large-scale tug-of-war competition was held during the Qingming Festival. From then on, the tug-of-war became part of the Qingming customs.

Kite flying is one of the favorite activities of Qingming Festival. The ancients believed that if someone was sick, they could write or draw their condition on a tied kite, tie the kite with a string and fly it in the air. When it flew high in the sky, the string would be cut, and the disease and disaster would fly away with the kite. Later, kites gradually developed into a popular outing entertainment activity.
