Liling is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, which is managed by Zhuzhou City.

Liling is located in the east of Hunan province. In 1985, it withdrew from the county and set up a city. Because it is rich in ceramics and fireworks, it enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad. It is the origin of the world's underglaze multicolored porcelain, the location of China's "National Porcelain" and "Hongguan Kiln" and the hometown of Li Wan, the founder of fireworks. It is also the "China Ceramic Historical and Cultural City" and "China Fireworks Capital".

The name of Liling was earlier than that of Qin Dynasty, and the county was located in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It has not changed its name for more than 2, years. Jiang Yan, a litterateur in the Southern Dynasties, once appointed the Hou of Liling, and Zhu Xi, Wang Shouren and Zuo Zongtang once preached in Liling Lijiang Academy. Organizational evolution

The Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period belong to Qianzhong County, Chu State. The Qin Dynasty belongs to Linxiang County, Changsha County. In the Western Han Dynasty, the fifth year of Gaozu (22 BC) belonged to Linxiang County of Changsha. In the fourth year after the Han Dynasty (184 BC), Liu Yue, the prime minister of Changsha, was named Liling Hou. There are 6 food cities, and Houcheng is built in Zhuanbu Gucheng Village.

in the eastern Han dynasty, a part of Linxiang county was set aside for Liling county, and it was included in some areas from Xiangnan county. When the county borders Mt.Yangqi Scenic Resort, Jiangxi Province in the east and Xiangjiang River in the west. Accordingly, Liling was established at the beginning. During the Three Kingdoms period, Liling belonged to Changsha County, Jingzhou, Wu State. The Sui Dynasty belonged to Changsha County, Jingzhou. In the third year of Daye (67), Linxiang was changed to Changsha County, and Liling was removed and merged into Changsha.

In the Tang Dynasty, in the fourth year of Tang Wude (621), Liling County was set aside from Changsha County. In Song Dynasty, it belonged to Changsha County, Tanzhou, Jinghu South Road. The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Tianlin Road in Huguanghang Province.
