Before we allow you to sell more than 200 items in the Steam community market in a calendar year, according to Article 6050W of the National Tax Law, the IRS requires us to confirm whether you are an American citizen or a foreign resident living in the United States. If you are an American citizen or a foreign resident living in the United States, the State Taxation Bureau also requires us to collect your social security number or other tax identification number. Please note that according to Article 6050W of the National Tax Law, we don't need to provide the above information or your transaction information to the State Taxation Bureau until you have participated in more than 200 sales and the total transaction amount in a calendar year exceeds 20,000 USD.
