Tian Zhigang, dean, professor, doctoral supervisor, and director of the Institute of Immunology, School of Life Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China. He graduated from Shanxi Medical University with a bachelor's degree in medicine in 1982, graduated from Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences with a master's degree in immunology in 1985, and graduated from Bethune Medical University with a doctorate in immunology in 1989. First- and second-level experts of the National "Hundreds and Thousands of Talents Project" (1996), winner of the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2001), winner of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth (2001), "Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions" of the Ministry of Health (2004), the academic leader of the "Natural Immunity" innovative research group of the Ministry of Education and the National Foundation of China (2007), and the first recipient of the second prize of the National Natural Science Award (2008).
He once served as deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences, director of the Institute of Basic Medicine, director of the Shandong Cancer Biotherapy Research Center, and director of the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Tumor Immunity and Genetic Engineering.
Since 1993, he has visited the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health several times for collaborative research.
