What does investigation include? There are six major directions of investigation: criminal investigation, domestic security, economic crime investigation, computer crime investigation, drug control and technical investigation.

This direction trains applied senior professionals who are familiar with the laws and characteristics of domestic security work under the new situation, master the comprehensive skills of safeguarding national security and social stability, and are competent for domestic security practical work and teaching and scientific research in this direction.
3. Direction of economic crime investigation. This direction cultivates applied senior professionals who are familiar with the operating rules of market economy, the laws and characteristics of economic crimes under market economy conditions, master modern economic crime investigation skills, and are competent for the actual work of economic crime investigation and the teaching and scientific research work in this direction.
4. Technical reconnaissance direction. This direction trains applied senior professionals with high political quality, strong technical reconnaissance professional skills, strong practical operation ability and competent technical reconnaissance work.
5, the direction of computer crime investigation. This direction is limited to science and engineering candidates. Cultivate applied senior professionals who have good scientific and humanistic qualities, basic policing qualities and technical skills, comprehensively and systematically master the basic theories, basic knowledge and basic skills of investigation, law, management, computer science and technology, information security and other disciplines, have the ability to combat, control and prevent information network crimes, and can engage in management teaching and scientific research of information security technology in public security, justice and other departments.
6. Anti-drug direction. This direction is limited to science and engineering candidates. Cultivate applied senior professionals who can engage in anti-drug propaganda, preventive education, anti-drug intelligence, drug case investigation, drug rehabilitation, international cooperation in drug control, control of precursor chemicals and other anti-drug business work in the public security and judicial departments, as well as teaching and scientific research work in their own direction.
On the one hand, the employment direction of investigation can be engaged in investigation, criminal law enforcement, crime prevention and control, drug control, smuggling and other aspects in public security, border defense, national security, customs and other departments at all levels and people's procuratorates.
The second is to engage in party and government management, discipline inspection and supervision, public security prevention, administrative law enforcement and other work in party and government organs, social organizations, enterprises and institutions.
The third direction is to be a prison and a policeman in the reeducation-through-labor system. The other direction is to engage in the teaching and research of investigation in police schools and scientific research institutions at all levels.
